Johnny and I married in 1966 and will celebrate 43 years together in May, 2009. I graduated from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas 1968. After graduation Johnny and I moved to Atlanta, GA. I worked for Southern Company in Atlanta for over 10 years as a procedures writer.
In 1981 our son, Jonathan, became critically ill. I left work to care for him full time. In 1983 he suffered a stroke at seven years of age and was left severely mentally disabled. He is now 33 and lives at home with us. Though he is permanently disabled he is a joy to everyone he meets and a blessing from God.
Our daughter is a pediatrician in the Altanta area. She is married with two of the most beautiful children God ever created. (Is there anything more obnoxious than a grandmother? :).
I am the secretary of the Christian Authors Guild in our area and spend my extra hours writing articles and devotionals. I have also completed a book about Jonathan and am searching for a publisher. I most recently had a chapter published in Gary Chapman's (author of The Five Love Languages) latest book, Love is a Verb. It appeared in bookstores in April, 2009.
I would love to attend a reunion one of these days, but it is difficult to find someone to care for our son. But, who knows, I may pop in one of these days. I would love to see all of you again.

Happy, happy birthday Carol. We are in Jackson today for a family wedding. Wish I had time to drive to Columbia and give you a hug. I’m going to try to make it to the reunion in April and can maybe see you then. Have a wonderful celebration today.
