William Scholl

SCHOLL, WILLIAM J.     1947-2019

William J, Scholl, of Powell, OH.  Well, he would rather have been playing golf,  but God had other plans for him.  On November 8, the world lost one of its finest.  Bill Scholl, age 72, left his mark on everyone he met.  He lived a life of love, humor and service, and the world will miss him.  He is survived by his wife, Teresa, whom he placed on a pedestal almost 50 years ago and where she currently remains.  Also survivng are his three sons and their families: Jeffrey and Amber and their children, Alex and Sarah, Kevin and Vikki and their daughter, Hadley, and Andrew and Sue.  In lieu of flowers, please celebrate the joy of life by doing something special with loved ones or surprise a stranger.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 17 from 1:30-3:30pm at Rutherford Funeral Home, Powell.  A service will follow at 3:30pm.  For full obituary and details, we please ask that you visit www.rutherfordfuneralhome.com

I will always remember Bill as the person

who first befriended me when I joined Watterson

in our Junior year... a truly wonderful human being.

I send my condolences to Theresa and all his family.

Pax tecum, my friend!

I am praying for him and his family. Through the years I saw Bill on occassion, but 2 years ago I started attending the No Name Watterson monthly lunch at MIllers Ale House. It was great to see Bill every month. He is going to be missed by al of the lunch group.

I only recently reconnected with Bill, and am grateful for that brief encounter, but longing for more.  I'm not sure if I ever understood or appreciated what a gracious and loving person he was, but a few brief text messages, a couple of phone conversations, and one memorable face to face visit in the last few months helped me understand what a gift he could have been in my life.  If only . . . I had been able in my youth to understand that, life with Bill in it could have been so much more rich.  Prayers coming for sure.  Not so much for Bill as for Theresa and the family, and that memories will bring them smiles, warmth, and peaceful certainty that this life was better because of him.

Growing up, Bill lived one block up the street from me on Northwest Boulevard. His house with the basketball hoop outside was one of the landmarks on my path walking to and from St. Agatha every day.

Bill was one of the people who made the world right, the way it was supposed to be. The world is a little duller without his good looks, and a little dimmer without his smile.

Bill was a fine man who was always courteous to everyone. I asked him if I could join the No Name Lunch Group and he welcomed me to do so.  I am thankful that I was able to see him and talk to him at these lunches over the past two years. Counting him as a friend was a treasure. He will be missed by many. My condolences to Teresa, his wonderful spouse, and to the Scholl family.

Having grown up a couple blocks from Bill, I remember watching his family pass our house to go to church. Bill was such a treasured friend at St. Agatha School and Watterson. Bill went the extra mile to help keep us together, both with helping plan our reunions and also starting the Lunch Bunch. He will be sorely missed. Prayers to all his family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Bill's passing.  He was a great friend to everyone.  He loved life and had a great sense of humor. So many people will miss him.   My sincere condolences to Teresa and their family.  We're in Florida for the winter so I won't be able to attend his service,  If anyone makes a trip to southwest Florida this winter, let's get together and make a toast to Bill.
