Wow! That's a lot to ask in this little square! I have spent my life in education as teacher and administrator working with kids and adults of various labels - special ed, gifted and general education. I loved my profession and I was passionate about it! I was married with a beautiful adult daughter who is making her way powerfully in the world. I have lived in 4 different states in destination spots like S.F, New Orleans, Memphis, and Vegas and smaller towns like Modesto and Walnut Creek. I am now divorced, happily retired, and living just a mile from Carondelet. I look forward to the end of the virus to continue my travels and adventures.
And just a comment about the valuable 4 years I spent at Carondelet...I loved the empowerment taught to us at schoo! I loved that I would sit in a class and forget if I was in history, theology or science because much of what we learned was interconnected. I loved that our nun/teachers spent their weekends protesting the war and supporting Ceser Chavez. I loved that we were taught to question everything, including our faith. I loved that though I was shy, I had plenty of opportunity to develop some leadership skills. I am grateful to Carondelet teachers who touched my life and both the friends of the road and friends of the heart I continue to cherish!
I'm one of those folks who loves to go to school...I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, a master's degree in human development, a doctorate in organizational leadership and gathered various teaching credentials along the way.
My greatest achievement is my daughter, my favorite awards are the happy memories I carry with me of my career and family life.
Absolutely!
I am in a couple of book clubs, I love to hike and travel, I relish lunches with friends and solving the world's problems over a glass of wine. Currently, I participate in training with SURJ to learn more about social justice and I enjoy Namaste, a local Catholic alternative group.
