Too much to type, so briefly...
Ran away in 1968, to SF to be with the "flower children" (I'm still pretty-much a hippie girl..).
Went to DVC in '71 for one semester, then out into the big world, returning in 1983 with a 5-year old (single mom).
I had driven a special ed bus for 10 years (& other jobs).
Valedictorian at DVC in '85 (4.0).
Finally started teaching in 1989, for 21 years, but had to retire early due to accident/injuries :-(
Still goin' (& still crazy) after all these years!
Thanks for workin' on the reunion!
Peace & Joy ~ Cindy :-)
DVC, Hayward State, Chapman for Teaching Credential, & S.F. State for Music Credential.
Actually, a few, but so-o-o very l-o-n-g ago...
Lots of scholarships/awards at DVC, 2x-top 3, Teacher of the Year for Contra Costa County, & just the gift of love from so many children & families for 21 years (MDUSD: Shore Acres & Holbrook Elem.).
There was a big, front-page/2 page article in May, 1985 (Mtz. News Gazette) about being DVC valedictorian (re-entry woman learned value of education). That was exciting; felt famous for a moment, ha!
That's all for now. Looking forward to hearing stories of the lives from the other '71 grads!
Perhaps...
I used to play guitar (Peppino D'Agostino was my teacher for 5 years; check him out...), & I played Bluegrass with others for 20+ years (dulcimer, harmonica).
Since 2011 accident, haven't played guitar (still carry a couple harps around & burst into playin' on occasion...).
Love Hallmark movies, reading, & the swimming pool!
I'm ADHD, LMNOP, XYZ, so love to share with people (covid is a challenge for extreme extroverts/Tigger types).
I'm reading, studying, learning more about systemic injustice, & how to overcome it/help heal our nation ~ to make the world a better, brighter, safer place...

Hey there, Hilary ~ Great to hear from you! I do remember guitar days, & think of you playin' & singin'... I studied with Peppino D'Agostino 5 years & played with Bluegrass folks for about 20 (guitar, dulcimer, harmonica).
I haven't been able to play since 2011 (accident/injuries), but my heart's still in it.
I'd love to hear some of your music, if you have a way to send it. I have such wonderful memories of you.

Hi Rita ~ Great to "see" you & hear from you! Remember grade school "Murph the Surf" when we were surfer girls/Beach Boys fans? Love to catch that sweet smile again. Be well, my friend. Tomorrow I'll be 67!
Ciao for now. Peace & Joy, in & through all ~ Cindy :-)

Hi Rozanne! Great to see you in the loop... I remember good times with you (& playin' guitar with your brother!).
Hope to hear more from you, & happy you're still truckin' through Life...
