Donovan Olson

I studied music education at Moorhead State, then was a substitute teacher in the Twin Cities for a year. I got a job teaching band in Saskatchewan for 2 years, then moved to North Dakota when a got married in 1981. Moved to the small town of Regan, ND when I got a teaching job in a nearby town. I taught music in a number of positions if the area for several years before taking on a tech support position in Bismarck, commuting daily from Regan. When they downsized, I took a position with a health insurance company. Was fortunately able to work from home for the last half dozen years, and retired last year. I continued to play in trombone in a community band, a couple of Dixieland bands, a big band, and sang in the community chorus. My main gig has been with the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony which I have been a member of for over 40 years. Our daughter lives in Fargo and works in the bio-tech industry. My main activity since retirement is yard work on our 2 acre plot, and the never ending job of remodeling our 100+ year old house.
