I hope everyone will sign on so we can begin keeping up with our classmates, especially before reunion time. Can you believe it will be our 50th!!!

I am a little confused about the photographs. Looks like Coke cut out (or scanned) his annual for some of us (like me) but not for others. What's the deal? I would be willing to hep' by scanning and donating the annual photos that I have.

I AM FINDING GREAT JOY PLAYING WITH THIS WEB-SITE. THE FIFTIES WERE A FUN TIME TO BE A TEENAGER. THIS ELECTRONIC-SCHOOL-ANNUAL (E-SILVER SPUR) BRINGS BACK SO MANY FINE MEMORIES. LAST NIGHT I LISTENED TO "OUR MUSIC" FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. IT IS SAD TO REVIEW THE "IN MEMORY" LIST,BUT, THAT IS PART OF LIFE.

I DO FEEL THAT ALL OF US ARE BLESSED IN SO MANY WAYS AND I DO HOPE THAT MORE KIDS (CLASS OF 59) UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION.

FIGHTING TEXANS, ALL THE WAY TO STATE!

If the reunion is as much fun as this website, we will have a blast! Thanks to Coke and the rest of you that are giving your time to this . The music really enhances the memories.

O.K. Two issues: I bought a web service to try to find Kay Collins - Artzberger and found her X (oops) at 1341 Country Place in Houston. He claims to not know where Kay is but I suspect that he really does. I have two other addresses for her and will pursue her with those numbers. Actually the service seems to work pretty well with males and less well with females (you women and your multiple last names!) I used it for four lost friends last week at $2.95 each and it seems to hold promise. The big problem is that it doesn't list the dates of listings so you have to guess if the person has a common name. The service is not too pricy and I may just buy a month unlimited an see what I can get for our lost people. Go to Intelius.com if you want to use it. Do any of you have a different service you like? Does anyone (Coke?) have better addresses for the Campbell twins. They and Kay were usually welded at the hips in the old days (talking Menger here)(I used to walk part way home with them (the twins). They lived cose to Menger and I lived a mile away. Kay lived over on Shoreline.

Second Issue; After Mr. Chiorgno (Ray Band Director)died I wanted to give my old Clarinet to A&I as a sort of memorial. Coke gave me a contact but the guy answered once and just faded away. So it is an old horn but it is ebony and French and sterling silver and needs new pads. We were pretty well off but I had to rent an instrument until my junior year in Ray and I know that lots of kids were then and are now much less fortunate than I. I guess that you can go to Sams now and get a plastic horn for $198 so my 1957 ventage $200.00 instrument is pretty insignificant. BTW, I did loan my Clarinet to a 10th grader here who had a plastic instrument and she couldn't get any sound out of it. I tried hers and mine and could blow both but she couldn't. What's up with that? (OH I guess that I am really just an old "blow hard".) In any case I would like to find a home for this instrument as it's on my "Bucket List". Any takers?

What a joy to see some of you have the ability to make these great websites. I stil have a brown and blue eye, I am still short (ha ha) and beautiful. Not really. I have a skin cancer on part of my nose taken off and the physician made a big goof-up and I had to have plastic surgery to restore most of my right nostril. But, I am alive, walk dogs at the Humane Society. Retired of course. I was a Medical Education Coordinator at Memorial Medical Center in CC for about 10 years. When Mom died, I quit working and went to school to become a psychologist. Ran out of money, but still learned a lot. I have remained active in church and still enjoy singing, just no longer a soprano, I am now a tenor. Yep. I am blessed with three sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren, of whom only two are female. The joy of my life is Shannon, my only daughter, who is now an RN and works at Arkansas Childrens Hospital in Little Rock. This is why I live in this little town in Benton, Arkansas. I took care of my grandchild, Rachel, who has Down's Syndrome, while Shannon was attending school. I will try to post pictures if I can figure it out. I love my sons but a son is a son until he gets a wife, and a daughter is a daughter all of her life.
I have stopped trying to find the love of my life. I think it already happened; I just wasn't his.
Love all of my friends, and feel blesssed.

Everyone, please log on to Jerry White's profile. He has some fourth and fifth grade picture from Sam Houston Elementary. I have identified some of them but the picture is small and my eyesight is not so great. Jerry has done a wonderful job in helping us all to make this a fun place.

Big Thanks to Coke Wilson, the sweetest man ever. That is also a quote from my closest friend, Zoe Tipton Howald, who attended Ray the first year, but moved to San Diego, California. When she returned in the 60's I set her up on a date with Carter Howald. Although they attended Elementary school at Sam Houston, they did not remember each other. Well, they got married and had 4 children. Even though divorced now, they remain friends. Check Out Carter Howald's profile. I remember that yellow pontiac convertible.

Love to all

Well, here I am again posting another response. This is to all who attended Sam Houston Elementary. I have found several people I recognized. Please be sure and check out the Old Pictures section on the left side.
You can find Coke Wilson, Bucky Harris, Jerry White just to mention a few on the football team for Sam Houston Sharks.

It is a lot of fun and you can use a zoomer to enlarge the pictures. In some of the class pictures, look for Kay Talbert, Marie Jones, Brenda Devers, Christy Baize, Jerry White, Robert Atwood, Ellen Hopkins, Dan Jarvis, and many more. There are some whose names I have forgotten but with a little encouragement, perhaps all of us can identify more and more.

Thanks.
