Michael Teter

Went to Del Mar then UT. Graduated with honors in 63 then got a Ph.D. in
Physics in 66. Went to work for Corning in upstate New York and became head
of their scientific computing. Became top engineer of a 4-billion dollar company,
and then became a professor of physics at Cornell University. Now retired from
both, living in Pittsburgh, got to play for a living for nearly 40 years.

Lost out on a National Merit Scholarship because I had never paid attention in math, and got kicked out of plane geometry for misbehaving. After losing the
scholarship because my math scores weren't quite good enough, I took second
year algebra again and this time paid attention. It was actually interesting and
my senior year I took Solid Geometry and Trig, and made A+'s in both. I was
then told that I couldn't get credit for them since I hadn't completed the prerequisite, plane geometry. High school bureaucracy strikes again!
