To all - Gerry Wilhelmi was in an accident a few days back and got busted up a bit - broken ribs, dislocated shoulder and sternum was fractured. Just got out of hospital but in quite a bit of pain as one could imagine with that many bones broken.
He was wrestling a warthog and I guess the warthog got the better of him.
Not really - he had a vehicle accident.

Anyway,I think we all need to wish him the best and a speedy recovery. We need to make sure he's in shape for the reunion!

Hey Paul,
To be honest with you, I have not really spent a lot of time on this site. I am at work today and it is quite slow, so I took some me time to check it out. It is a great idea and a wonderful way to connect with others from our class. I work for Northrop Grumman Corporation in Rolling Meadows and believe it or not, I ran into Tom Hilgemann in the hallway a couple of years ago. Small world...I gave him the link to the site, but I don't believe he has set up his profle yet. I told him to pass it on to anyone he still keeps in touch with. I don't know which of you came up with this idea for the website but I say BRAVO!!! I am really looking forward to the reunion because I have not kept in touch with anyone since high school. I will see Karen Morgan periodically as she is the nurse at the school my grandson attends, and I have run into Suzi Elsner at the Jeep dealership but that is just about it. It will be nice for all of us to come together as one. We are a generation of hippies and flower children but there is one constant..we are all just people and as you so eloquently put it "old farts". Can't imagine being around all of those young people at a homecoming football game! Thanks again for this forum it has been a very long time coming. And Gerry, glad you are okay after your car accident!

We lost a fellow classmate this week, Brad Miller.
He and Deb were just a sweet couple. Remember
giving them my daughter's crib when they were expecting
their first child. Seems like yesterday.
Am saddened by the news.

It's a joy to hear from all of you who have responded to this site. Life has sure given us surprises, hasn't it? Some good; some bad but time goes on. I have to admit, there were a few names that I had to sneak a peak at their high school pictures to remember who they were.

For anyone who doesn't remember - I am one of the twins! Donna is my sister and we're both in Florida.

Stay in touch...... Diana Taylor

Hey Gerald, They say the good die young. You are sure to live forever!

Well, I finally got signed on - my computer hard Drive had decided to take a dive. It is so good to see all the pictures and learn what has happened to everyone.

Life is good - Hoping the next 25 years will even be better. It's really sad to see that we had lost some of our group. I'll be trying to catch up with people I remember soon.

Gery, this accident was not a replay of you and Shields and CL s first drive in convenience store was it????

Bob, that was great!! Hey, can you add a couple of Ho ho's, and a slurpy to the bill?

Hey Berg and Chas; good to hear from you...no buildings were involved only a barbed wire fence...I think Tommy is trying to forget that night. I know I did some pretty dumb things back then and not alot to be proud of. I think Marlon Brandon said it best when he was asked in a movie, "what are you rebelling against?" His reply was, "what do ya got?" Other than entertainment for my own sense of boredom I don't see much was gained.

Hello to all of you!
This has been an interesting week. Gary Parrish stopped by to give me an autographed picture of "The Association". That brought back a bunch of memories...

I am hoping to connect with Barchard this weekend, it has been way too long since we got together.

My thanks to all who have been working on the reunion activities and this website. GREAT JOB!!!!! We all appreciate your hard work.

I am really looking forward to connecting with all of you at the reunion.

Ron Domagala was a (mostly substitute) teacher in Crystal Lake back when we all were in junior hi and maybe early high school. For the past many decades he has lived in the Champaign, IL area where I've been for most of the last 40 years. I saw Ron occasionally. He was active in a lot of civic projects and was involved in education for 50 years. Any way, Ron passed away two days ago. No funeral is planned, but a memoprial service down here is in the works. He was a good guy.

I remember that he was substitute teaching our seventh grade science class the day Kennedy was shot.

Dave, I too remember distinctly that someone walked into our junior high science class and whispered into Mr. Domagalas’ ear. Mr. Domagala then turned to the class, shook his head in disbelief and disgust, took a second, and announced to us that President Kennedy had been shot. I’ll never forget that.

I had Mr. Domagala too at South Junior High... he was the only teacher that made me like science... I remember I did my science project on embalming!

I also had Mr. Domagala for science. I was in his class as well when he announced that the President had been shot. I will never forget that day. Does anyone remember Mr. Miller...he loved to throw erasers at people when they talked during class. He also taught gym class in junior high.

I remember that there were three of us Linda's in grade school... Linda Parts, Linda Benson, and Linda Scaggs,,,, anyway, the teachers used to call us by our first name and first initial of our last name,,, so can you imagine going through school always being Linda P? ( in my mind, it was always Linda Pee....lol )

05/21/09 05:24 PM #44

Debbie Visin (Hindman)

Ron Domagala told me about a master's program in special ed the week I was graduating from U. of Ill. He's responsible for me getting a master's degree in Special ed. If it weren't for him, I probably would have kept being a flight attendant (which might not have been all bad!) I'm really sad to hear that he died! I guess I keep imagining that none of us are aging! I must really be delusional!

The best teachers were Mrs. Wright (English) and Mrs. Brandt (Typing and Business). Anyone remember the Spanish teacher - he was really strange, but God loves him anyway. I don't remember any of the math teachers at all.

Does anyone remember who our History/Social Studies teacher was? I remember his face, but not his name.
