Thanks to the committee for doing our 50th event. If you need worker bees -- put me on your list. I am available on weekends, especially.

What have I been up to? I have loved being an academic -- first in Portland (OR), then College Station (TX) and now Denton. Remember your college professors? Well, it really is as good as it looked. I earned full professor some years ago and now work with graduate students on theses and dissertations. I also work as a clinical psychologist one day a week -- keeps me honest! In my personal life, I was widowed in 1976, remarried in 1980, received an annulment in 1982 and have remained single ever since. As mentioned in the marketing flyer, life has been a bit of everything -- good, bad, and everything in between. Or to quote the Earl of Grantham from Downton Abbey...."We all have chapters that we don't want published"!!!

School Story

Gosh, I certainly remember the drill team and the many different events that we performed at. I remember one winter event at the Cotton Bowl (New Year's day playoffs probably) where we were all so cold in our little satin uniforms that we almost could not move. We lined up at the end of second quarter so that we could march on the field and perform at half time and, wouldn't you know, the football teams moved in our direction as the team with possession was moving toward the end zone. I remember that the Panaders (spelling?) could hardly move fast enough for the football players and some of us got mowed down. At least that is my memory!!! The story may have improved with the years!

Bonnie, it was good to see you on Friday night. I did not make it to Saturday night's dinner -- hope you and Bill had a good time. Hi, Mike. I have wondered about your career for many years because IF I remember correctly, you had plans to go to school in Washington State and major in oceanography. I see that you did all of that at Duke and then lived that career for a while. I lived 20 years in Oregon -- got a PhD at Oregon State and loved my time in the NW.
