Stood up on Prom? Ouch!

I went to ours' w/ Nancy DelGreco and Loreal Fisher in '89. She was our neighbor. I ordered a pizza and had it delivered to the Dearborn Club (?) or whatever the place was called. Anyway, Vogel was pissed!

I loved it.

My friends in England asked if everyone in America carries a gun. They assumed we did.

That's hilarious! I remember the food wasn't that good. Pizza would have been great!

People in San Diego assumed I was a tough street kid.

Shanghai was the safest big city I've ever been in. Can walk the streets at 2am and not worry. 16 million people in one city and not a single repeat offender. Say what you like about the human rights issue, it is very safe. The worst crimes are generally having your bicycle stolen while shopping.

You all were talking about drug movies awhile back. The one that bothered me was Trainspotting with Ewan McGregor (1996). I think I may show that one to my boys when they turn about 14 years old. If that doesn't keep em away, I'm not sure what will.

Yes the food in England is rather bad. We did find pizza that we would order regularly but it cost about $20 for a large three topper. And petrol was like $4 per liter. This was back in 2000. It's really expensive to live there. We did however eat the best fish and chips. Man, I miss that!

I've only been to Europe one time. We flew to Rome (then onto Cicily) on September 10th, 2001. It was strange being being there w/ everything going on at that time.

The flight home was fun...waiting for a bomb to go off over the Atlantic Ocean.

I drove home as fast as I could...had a good funny about Oakland County eating disorder girls...What me screw it up now...Sure they knew Eminem & Kid Rock...they use to score their Ho-ho's & twinkles to purge from them!

April: Are you speaking English? I have no idea what you're talking about.

Oh Geeze Robert...I bet you really weren't into enjoying that trip. I couldn't imagine. On 9/11 about noon after the 1st shock wore off...I took off to the Super K to stock up on can goods & water...thought about buying a gun for the first time in my life! The whole end of the world has never been a reality thing for me, didn't buy into the milinium thing...but using airplanes as bombs... I was waiting for ground troops to break out!

I swear every Oakland County female I have worked w/had an eating disorder. Latter posts I mentioned they all claimed to know Eminem & Kid Rock. Make any sense, or am I just completely out of it today?

We actually had a great time. It was strange because we didn't realize how bad it was until we came home.

Then, I felt like a jack ass.

Well honestly how could you! We've had the minor attacks in the past, but nothing to this magniude (spelt wrong). I honestly can say I did not think anything like that was possible in the US.

Sept 11 in England! We were home in late August for a family reunion and when we returned to the UK my mom came with us. She went home to DBH three days before sept 11 and I told my husband we were lucky she went home when she did because we would never have gotten her on a plane after that! We would have been stuck with her! hee hee
The response at first from the brits was one that made me angry. I don't think they understood the impact of the situation. I took the boys to school the next day, sept 12, and no one said anything about it. Like it had never happened. I was in shock and still trying to get a phone call/email home and couldn't. What a time. They finally came around and the support was phenomenal. Signs in the shop windows with prayers for America. American flags being displayed everwhere. The only downer was that someone who knew we were American left a full-page newspaper photo of Bin Ladan on our driveway and wrote something on it like This is the man responsible for those deaths. It creeped me out a bit.

My sister-in-law lived in Irvington NY at the time and her husband was walking their girls to school when the South Tower plane went overhead. Irvington is on the Hudson River and they could walk down to the river and see Manhattan.

I spent september 11th in threat con delta wondering where in the hell my husband was... if I could get on the military installation fast enough to get my kids before they shut the gates. I did 120 MPH from baltimore to Ft. Meade and just made it home is time for complete lock down.

I do have to say it was the scariest time of my life. It was a complete wake up call. I never hugged my kids tighter. Sad thing was up at the Clark station (back when it was still a company store)...I was up there helping Dawn Lewicki control the crowds (& get some cheap gas) because everyone was price gouging...and they weren't... Well there was this little mexican girl about age 8or 9 who use to come up there all the time & some asshole started yelling at her...You better tell your Mom & Dad to go back to Iraq before we come for them. I could not believe the ignorance that appeared that day.

I'm sorry, April. Your messages aren't making sense.

It may be me. I'm working on 12 different things and looking at this stupid site.

Not a problem Robert...It's not the 1st time I didn't make sense, & it sure won't be the last! I get ahead of myself sometimes when I'm emotional. Today is one of those days...trying to use sight to get off my pitty kick.
