Robert: It was really snowing up in White Cloud. There were many many big deer, must have been a good year of eating for them! I am sure many hunters will be pleased. My family hunts but not me, I am too big hearted, I can't stand when people hunt only to kill something or have a mount on the wall. If you do it for the food, then I understand. That is the only thing my husband and I have ever completely agreed on!
April, I thought of Wanda (Rule) when I voted on the stem cell issue. It will be 8 years that the accident happened. Autumn came into my husbands store a couple months ago and told John that Wanda was going to the operation they have wanted for her. At first, she was not a good candidate, but that changed. The operation is the same that Christopher Reeves had, it will shock her diagraphm and make her lung (I think just one lung) contract to take a breath, this will at least get her off the vent during the day. They used to have a benefit for Wanda each year, but people quit coming, sad. I hope you are enjoying the cold and the little present of white stuff. My daughter was looking for her snowsuit last night, she was very excited that there was snow on our chairs, she wanted to go out and clean them off, speaking of, I need to get those put up and no time like the present!

Debbie: The girl at the bar was Clara.

John: Were you involved in the stem cell bill?

April: Your postings are nasty...so, keep 'em coming.

Bill Flohr: Thanks for your participation over the past couple of weeks.

Has anyone listened to the Oasis song from yesterday's posting? Seriously, one listen and you'll be hooked. It's high-octane rock and roll after about 15 seconds into it.

Ok I listened...it's not bad. But honestly one song always comes to mind when I am doing my post... Nickelback's Photograph! It reminds of when I used to climb on top of Pardee...thinking I was some badass law breaker. I could of never broke into the school...who would want too...Back then I was always trying to get out, today would love to go back!

Speaking of Photograph...something we haven't touched on... Arcade's...Gosh how I was addicted! I even remember going to an arcade & they had a Michael Jackson look alike...I thought I was in heaven...it was during the thriller stage @ least I went through for a short minute. Before I gave it up for Ozzy, but then at 16 I did go to a Run DMC, Whodini, LL Cool J & Beastie Boys concert!
John you remember that concert...you & Marc dropped me & Dana Sadd off at the Fox, & you guys thought you scored some Detroit good weed...it smelt like Banana Peels...they seen you white boys coming!!!ROFL

Tara...I think that if another fundraiser was done more would show up now! It's been a few years & people are always looking for excuse to get together & maybe be wiser to the purpose of what the gathering is really for! I always wondered what happened to her, but she was never in my circle of friends after school ended to get an update!

I seriously thought about going and donating eggs for the cause...I think I'm done w/them? Or at least hope!

John: Adrina and I were sitting here the other day, I was telling her about this site and we started looking at all the pictures. Then we came across the picture of you sitting in the bus, Adrina wanted me to ask you where Thelma and Louise are? Are you sure that is not a picture of Brad Pitt? just had to tell you that. John and I looked at some houses in Brownstown but we could not find and new, bigger houses with any type of land. We did find an AWESOME house in Rockwood, we went and looked at it and fell in love with it and knew we found our new home, except there was an offer on it already and when we came back from up north, ready to offer asking, the realtor called and told us that the other peoples offer was accepted. It was a short sale, and when we looked at it, we knew there was an offer and we asked the realtor if we offered asking that day, would the bank take ours? She said no, on a short sale they take them in the order they are recieved and it would still take 3 weeks for them to even look at our offer, too bad for the bank, they would have had an $35,000. Now every house we go look at, I compare it that one and we have not found anything yet. So, if you know of something out that way by you, let me know!

Speaking of arcades... I practically lived at the Red Baron Arcade on Telegraph in Taylor!! Did anyone else go there?? I was Centipede and Asteroids Queen. I loved Turbo too, but I sucked at it. My other obsession was Skateland - every weekend.

Tara...please tell me you use Realtor.com? It is the greatest...& sometimes going directly to the realtor's website you get a few more details.

Hey April,
Wanda's first fundraiser was a huge success, she was still in the hospital but they let her leave with a nurse. It was supposed to be a surprise that she was coming but Autumn told me. I remember that day very well, there were so many pregnant women there, I was pregnant with our first baby and Raisa (Autumn and Wanda's mom) could not keep her hands off my belly, little did we know that a couple weeks later we would have our tiny little dude! That benefit was like a huge class reunion, there were so many people there and it was a blast, especially for Wanda. Then the benefits went good for about 4 or 5 more years. Dan Sulkey, Scott Sadowski, Henry Harris and them hold a poker tournament once a year (they have it at a hall with beer and food) and they give the proceeds to Wanda. Wanda lives with her mom and dad out in Irish HIlls by my sister. Any how, Wanda is in good spirits and has a lot of love and family!
Well, this is when I have to start getting Ryann ready to go get her brother at 3:00. Like I said she is very hard-headed!

April,
Yea, I use Realtor.com, that is one the reasons, why I am up so late most nights. That is how I found that house in Rockood, although it came up in a different city that I was not searching for, although it was in Rockwood. I would have found it earlier and we would be living there! It's pretty much up to me to find a house as John works 7 days a weeks (has for the last 20 years) and he has no time to look, sometimes I just get burned out. Sure, I find lots of houses but John usually finds something wrong with them before we even look. Now, a couple weeks ago he did find a house, it was in Huron Township, it had land and was big and new! It was a foreclosure and it was now down half of what it was previously listed at. Wow, what a deal! I did a birds eye view and about 30 feet from the back of this house sat a big ole' railroad track, a busy one at that! So we didn't look at that one either! I guess that one day we will find the right one, if we did not have the house next door, I would go crazy!

My song's 'no bad'? Are you kidding me?! (ha)

Tara: There's a very nice house in Cranbery Twp for sale. The area is beautiful; the economy's pretty healthy; and there's plenty of deer.

Tara...I went through the looking for a house from like 2000 to 2004...We started off looking Rockwood, Huron TWSHP, then we started finding houses in Monroe, much cheaper, bigger & lots of land. The 1st I fell in love w/ was in Bedford...It was picture perfect...it was on a main road but far enough back not to be an issue...then as were there..I hear gun shoots...at the back of what would of been our property...A shooting range...BIG STOPPER! We then found our dream house in Erie...5 bedrooms, beautiful...had a "dead" no longer in use railroad to the far left of the house, but it fell threw too, couldn't get our house sold fast enough.

By 2004...I had 2 more added on, actually one still in the cooker...I then relized...Although I love the country, I could not take the hix way of Monroe...I could not raise my kids in a neighborhood where there was racism, leave your dogs outside, & hunter attitude. I am just not a hunter, & working in Child Welfare for so long, the realization that Wayne County kids that are taken from parents is due 90% to neglect of drugs or alcohol, but Monroe County on the other hand is 80% sexual abuse. The hix thing just got me. So I moved to a big house (I like the older farm house type of home) w/ a double lot in Lincoln Park, have lower taxes for the city (big summer tax you can pay in 3 payments w/LP) & use school of choice in Riverview...wear if I would of moved there...I would be living in a small house w/larger taxes.

Just be sure to weigh all your options. I still love the idea of big house on a farm, one day I hope to by a city & clear it out...ROFL

Look at Robert trying to sell you his house!

I liked your song! But Photograph is my thought choice for this website. How many times you climb Pardee?

April, I teach 9th grade World History. They are the 14 going on 24 set. I love it, I have fun everyday.

You also give new meaning to "egging" in your previous response.

April Passen (Ochman)

OH Duh...It took me a minute to get it!

But Seriously...The media play into the kids using at such a young age, 9th are they using often? Have you heard about snorting liquor? Or by the other means mentioned many posts above? I'm sorry...I'm a freaked out parent who does not want to be blinded when...NO IF my kid chooses.

11/10/08 02:47 PM #788

April Passen (Ochman)

Wow...Dan I am sorry. I just did what I hated when people do to me...look at me like I have all the answers from Protective services, hospice, food stamps, to why people are the way they are! I am just freaking out...my 10 1/2 year old is off at camp, then I watch that stupid thing on drugs...I really need to go back to work. You know what they say about Idol time...anyhow...forget I asked. Just thinking what I'd be doing if I were in camp, but not at that age...my "bad girl" time didn't kick in till 13 going on 14!

Anyhow I know what ya mean by the 14 going on 24...I did my internship at Vista Maria...talk about some girls trying to grow up quickly. Troubled teens are always fun, as long as their not your own!

I have a question.

Guys? Best Bond Girl?

Ladies? Best James Bond?

For me, Sean Connery, then Daniel Craig.
I think Ursula Andress, the blond in the bikini, was a hot chick.

Tracey- got to go with Daniel Craig

April/Tara- what happened to Wanda? It has been so long since I left Michigan, I never heard. Autumn and I where really good friends in Middle school but lost touch in High school.

Northport High School has a reputation. It is nicknamed "Northpot" or "Northsnort" and many of these kids just pick up what they learn at home. Prescription drugs are obviously the easiest to get, but they have the Heroin problem later, usually after the High school weed and alcohol experiments.

Ulrich is back!!! Been busy at the parlor?!?!?

Report cards and MEAP scores came home today. Both boys A/B honor roll. My 5th grader reads on the 10th grade level and my 7th grader reads on the college level. Must be all those Harry Potter novels my uptight chrisitan neighbor is so opposed to.... (sorry robert, one demerit to me for religion reference)

Yes, Daniel back from the sweatshop!

Have any of you had a guina pig/s? I rescued one from certain death and she is doing great but I think she may be bored and can use some company. I think I may need to break down and get another one but other than NOT getting a male, what else do I need to know? How easily can I integrate them? Do I need to keep them apart/quarentined for some time before putting them together? Any advice would be welcomed.
