I knew John at an early age since we attended Oxford Elementary, OL Smith Jr High and Edsel Ford High School together.  We hung out with some other fellows from the neighborhood at Summer Stephens Park swimming in the pool, playing tackle football in our swim trunks (were we crazy or what?), and just hanging out in the park most summers through junior high.  I drive by the home he grew up in on Queen near Princeton weekly coming home from work and it still shocks me that he has passed away, since the John I knew was in great physical shape during the days we hung out together and he had quit a wit about him.  I still cannot fathom he is gone.  I will always have wonderful thoughts about John.  RIP up there Johnny...
