Thomas Schlaff; July 27, 1951 - April 30, 2024;   Beloved husband of Elizabeth. Loving father of April (Richter) Gideon and Charles (Stephanie) Schlaff. Dearest son of Francis and Josephine. Dear brother of William Schlaff. Uncle of Marc Schlaff, Sarah Sheldon, Paul (Sarah) Sheldon, Mary Rose (Geoff Gold) Sheldon, Avery Baerlin, Lauren Baerlin, and Ava Elwart. Cool older brother-in-law to Mary Elwart-Keys, Dean (Mara) Elwart, Ann (Gerald) Sheldon, and Amy (David) Baerlin. Dear nephew of Jerome (Mary) Schlaff and Donna Schlaff.  Tom was born in July 1951, the first of two sons to Josephine and Francis Schlaff. He was a mischievous older brother to Bill, and spent his adolescence immersing himself in music, which was one of his lifelong passions. He met the love of his life, Liz, and they married in 1974. Together they had two children. Tom worked his entire career in the dairy business and ended as a production planner for Dean Foods when he retired in 2011. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to concerts, watching sports (Go Blue!) and spending time with his friends and family. As anyone who ever found themselves across the card table from him could tell you, he was a wonderful storyteller and had a way of engaging everyone with jokes and tall tales while he charmed you out of all your chips. Though his family will never be same without him, in his honor, we respectfully ask that you listen to your favorite song and sing along at the loudest acceptable volume.  We also share with you the most important lessons he gave us: work hard, take excellent care of the people around you and have a little fun!
