Prentis, The tailgating was definately fun. I am in for all of the above. Bubba walked, so hopefully he made to the correct house. I was so glad to have gotten a pic of Mark. I think I caught him off guard.

Philly, I REALLY appreciate the ride home.

David, thanks for the knee. ;o)

It was really great to visit with everyone. 25th reunion sounds GREAT!

I thought I posed for that one, Patricia. I still gotta do something about that glare from my glasses. All the more reason I need to get the Lasik surgery done (I can't wear contacts).

Mark, you did pose for that. I was just kidding. :o)

Anyone that has a group picture that was taken on the steps at DCC, please forward me a copy to pthrasher@icecontractors.net. Thanks!

I'd like to thank Beau and Philomena for an outstanding weekend. We all appreciate your hard work. I think everyone had a good time. The group photo from the stairs says a lot....everyone is smiling so big.

I think it really cool the way a class that was not particularly close 20 years ago could have such a successful reunion and enjoy it so much.

Personally I would like to issue an apology for any comments, lewd and suggestive behavior, ass grabbing or general offenses I may have committed after 10:30 or so. I would like the blame the moonshine but the responsible drinking ship had sailed waaaayyy before that ever happened. You are all old and dear friends and you should not have been subjected to my dancing either.

I hope we can all stay in touch and I truly hope to see you all soon.

I'm up for another reunion in five years. By then, Chris will be able (and hopefully willing) to bring Dakota and me if Breck isn't up to it. He's getting kind of curmudgeony at 40 LOL

Philomena Compton

Hello everyone!

What a BLAST! I love you all!!!
I will send the link and information from Mark Button shortly. Thank you for the praises and compliments - it meant the world to Beau and me. We are just so pleased that you all came. I so enjoyed watching you guys read the "Raider's Digests" I brought. I will keep everyone posted from time to time. I will keep the website updated and working - don't worry and keep up the message forum (at least a little).
I cannot wait to see everyone again in 5 years!

Hey folks, sorry I wasn't around all day to respond to all the messages sent to me, but I have since responded to everyone that had taken the time to say a few kind words and asked for some information. Just so each of you know, I have sent all the information in regard to that account to Philomena so that each of you can view all the pictures that have been posted. I understand that having put a password on the account is somewhat inconvenient, but I felt it was absolutely necessary for safety's sake (yours and your respective families). For those that have already received the password information, I respectfully request that you not post it on the open forum, in case there are lurkers afoot with less than honorable intentions. If any of you have any questions, please send me a message or give me a call! And Philomena, you are an angel!

Good Look Everybody
It was such a pleasure seeing some of you for the first time in 20 years. Each and everyone one of you looked great. Continue to take good care of of yourselves, beacuse it seems like you all have done a good job of that. Also I would like to thank all that attended and those responsible for the Reunion, because you did make this one memorable weekend.

Peace Out

Hey there Folks.
For some reason I am not able to log into photobucket with the password that Phillie provided. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch : )
Wished we could have made it, but Mckenzie's soccer is taking over my life.
Count me in for the 25th.

Thanks for a great time Saturday night. It was fantastic to catch up with everyone and see how much change has happened in Decatur. I hope everyone else had a great time as well.

I like the tailgate idea - no more stuffy country club stuff.

Hi Everyone.
Many, many thanks to Phillie and Beau for making our reunion such a great time!!!! It was fun to see everyone, visit, laugh, tailgate (what an unusually silly and fun plan, Prentiss). I am definitely interested and on board for a 25th reunion. Take care....

Sharilyn and Heather, you were missed--particularly during our Central UMC picture. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Heather, let me know what problem(s) you're having, and I will look into it on my end. Everything appears to be working fine on my end, so shoot me a private message with the problem and whatever details you can give me to help me pinpoint things.

Hooooooooooooooly smokers what a great time. I think bubba said it best when he said its great to see people that didnt actually hang out alot together in school could break the ice and enjoy each others diverse interests. In my opinion one of the most unfortunate aspects in society is to be secluded in a small clique type atmosphere.Your personality never grows or expands and your communication skills never truly develop. I believe we all in some ways experienced the incredible impact of opening yourself up and respecting other interests and personalities outside of our old cliques. The forum set the ice breaking up (thanks beau and philly steak) and the tailgating confirmed the success of this diversity coming together. (thanks prentiss, katie, allyson etc) Its amazing to me the satisfaction you can receive from not taking yourself so seriously, laughing, and then opening yourself up to exploring other personalities. Its unbelievable, or at least it is to me. I wish i would have practiced this earlier in my life, but i'm glad i have realized it in these last several years. I will teach it to my kids as well. That tailgate rodeo proved it. I was talking to Musial during the tailgate session and just slowly backed up and looked around at all the people smiling and laughing. I'll never forget that improvised gathering. Such a wonderful snapshot of how society should be. Just good people opening themselves up,dropping their guards, attitudes, preferences, and stereotypes to live and laugh a little deeper!!!!!!!

Loved every second thanks to everyone for their efforts !!!!!!!

I agree with all the sentiments above. Great job!

I thought y'all might be interested to know that my father also won the Breeder's Cup at the DHS class of '70 20 year reunion. I don't quite measure up to Mark Sr. though. In 1990, he had the oldest (me obviously), youngest (born in Jan '90) and the most (six boys).

Hal, as I told numerous people, I probably smiled and laughed more in that three-day period than I probably have in a very long time, and I swear to you on whatever you hold holy and dear that I never hung out with one single person from our class outside of school. You absolutely nailed it on the head with your observations, and I wholeheartedly echo your sentiments.

Mark, I see that the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree and the fish don't see swimming upstream as much of a battle. Of the ones that were with you at lunch Saturday, they were very well-behaved and very well-mannered children, and you have all the reasons in the world to be proud.

FYI folks, if any of you have pictures from the three-day weekend that you'd like to add to that photo album, let me know, and I will send you the administrator password that will let you upload your pictures. I think that information might've been mistakenly left out by me when I sent Philomena the details.

Mark, 20 years after you didnt hang out socially with anyone from our class, you were one the most popular cats from the 3 day event, thats what its all about man, so glad to hear you found your laugh.....pass it forward ...what goes around comes around........honk honk!!!!!!!!

I've just been looking through patricias pictures and determined that although katies car doesnt have a built in bottle opener, when she flexes her muscles her arm pit does have one. She opened 7 bottles at the tailgate and probably would have kept it going, but bubba stuck a coors light twist off in there and she had to go get stitches. She is in such good shape. I heard her tell Sara that her armpit can also be used as a pencil sharpener, aluminum can crusher and if she gets really mad -a panini press! Our class is just so full of hidden talents. Great job Katie! Tell billy blanks that all the work has paid off! haaaaaaaaaa
