Thanks Beau

It is extremely nice over here. It is exactly what Decatur would be if all of the money went to one city school.

See you all in a couple of days....be careful driving into town.

Stacy,
We were eating breakfast at Ryan's in Huntsville last Saturday and I could have sworn I saw your dad at the next table! Turns out it wasn't him, of course, but I just thought I'd share that with you. The guy did say, as he and his wife were leaving, that your dad must have been a great coach if I still remembered him after 20 yrs. I assured him he was.

Thank you Candy. Dad is still my very best friend. He and Mom are going to be in Decatur Saturday night. I am going to get him to come by the country club for a little while. He still looks very much like himself. He has really mellowed out though....2 granddaughters will do that to you. They have him wrapped around their little fingers. See you in a couple of nights.

Don't worry about the skype, I so appreciate you trying but we still don't have access at the house and I'm not sure how they would feel about me joining the party from the pro shop/Richard's office.

Anyway, I know you are all having a blast! Please post lots of pictures!!!

Just got back from The Brick - lots of fun, and great to see everyone that was there. Things are rolling - see everybody this weekend - be safe if you're traveling in.

Are there no other updates on the brick last night? Did Scott "hook up" with everybody?

09/12/08 01:57 PM #1829

Bubba

I was going to ask Scott the very same question, but I did not want him to get into trouble.

Hope everyone had a great time.

See you all tomorrow. Dad is going to come with me to the tour of DHS. He is excited about seeing everyone.

Kristae is not going to get to come. Her grandmother is in really bad shape. They have brought Hospice in. I would love for everyone to keep her and her family in their prayers. They are having a hard time.

Stacy, i am sorry to hear about your wife grandmother, i will kept her in my prayers....

It was a good turn out at the Brick last night, i was amazed how little everyone has changed. I still think we have the best looking class ever at (D High).

UPDATE:: I talked to Scott at 2:30 last night, he was on his way back to the hotel with a sack full of krystals..(Sounds like high school days to me), but sorry guys no hook up.

Stacy,
I'm sorry to hear about yur wife's grandmother. Breck and I both lost our grandmothers (his paternal, my maternal)within a week of each other September of last year. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey everybody!
Last night was great. I tried to get around to everybody in the time we were there. If I missed anybody who had already showed up, I'm sorry. And for everybody who showed up later, sorry we had to rush off. Have a great time tonight! See you in 10 yrs if not before. I'm not sure what the 'keep in touch policy' is, but I think we all fell a little short last time. Let's try to do better this time around, OK?

It was great seeing everyone at Riverfest. I did miss seeing several others that I would have liked to have run in to....maybe we can "hook up" ;-)

Hope everyone made it home safe!!

Hal - The squirrels and mosquitos are immune to the Skeeter Mist 2000.....please juice it up for next time. Both those bastards were about to cart us off!!

It was great to see everyone last night. Hope all that were traveling got home safely and get some rest this week. I second Prentiss. I forgot my camera and would like to see all the pics that were taken.

Hey all

Great time last night. It was alot of fun to catch up with everyone. You all looked great. We need to all keep in touch.

Beau--How long will we have access to this website?

Here is wishing you all the very best....and I cannot wait until the next time that we can all get together.

First and foremost, I would simply like to say thank you to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU for making this a truly joyous time for me. Each and every one of you made this guy feel appreciated, and I am forever grateful to have been a part of this kick-ass DHS graduating class of circa AD 1988!

For those of you that were fortunate enough to make out to any one of the gatherings (Thursday night's Brick, Friday's Riverfest, Saturday morning's school tour, and Saturday night's Country Club), I'm sure each of you had seen me armed with a camera, and I have already resized all 150-plus pictures. Within the next couple days, I will be sending Philomena all the information in regard to what I will be setting up to share with each and every one of you so that you will be able to sorta kinda relive some of the moments through the eyes of one guy who prefers to stay behind a camera than in front of one. In addition, for those of you that have some pictures that you would like to share from this past weekend's events, I will provide you in a private message the administrator password to the account that I will be setting up so that you may upload your photos as well (if you so choose). If any of you are concerned with privacy issues, this particular account will also be password-protected for guest viewing so that the internet trolls and sickos won't have that access to these photos (for the sake of protecting the innocent children). Please feel free to contact me through the private messaging function on this website or call the phone number listed in my profile (it's my cell number) if you have any questions or concerns that I can answer in regard to this little endeavor.

Again, thank you to every single one of you who were a part of this weekend's events for making this a truly enjoyable and memorable one!

Thanks to everybody who came out this weekend and made the reunion a complete success. For those of you that couldn't make it, we missed you, and hope you can attend the next one. I got a lot of feedback on having a 25-year reunion, and I don't see any reason why we can't do that - especially after the huge success of our 20-year.

Stacy Lawler mentioned us having access to this site after the reunion. It seems like I remember this thing being available on an ongoing basis, so post pictures, comments, etc. and continue to update your profile. The reunion is over, but this website can roll on...

Another way to share pictures: if you have a Winkflash, Shutterfly, etc. account, you could post your pics there and let us all know the password so we can check them out.

Again, this thing couldn't have been what it was without all the interest in the website, its forum, and without your attendance at all the events. We really do have a great class, and even though, as Neal Porter put it: "You know, Beau, you're in charge of this reunion until we die", I consider it an honor and privilege to have been elected by you two decades ago.

Take care,
Beau

Beau and Philomena - Just wanted to say thank you so much for an awesome weekend. Chris and I made it home and are ready to pass out. I don't think I have stayed out that late in a long time. I would also like to add my name to the 25 year request. I like the tail gate idea. I am sure Prentiss could cater it on his little grill. (He makes a mean veggie dog) I bet Katie would love to be the bartender. Her car even has a built in bottle opener. It was great seeing everyone. I hope you late night folks did not have to big of a hangover thanks to mine and Katies party favors. I think Patricia would agree that Grandma makes some mean apple pie. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Count me in on the 25-year gathering request as well! Ten years between mass get-togethers is just way too damn long.

Beau, Phillie, Hal,

Thanks for all your hard work of putting our 20th reunion together. It was so great seeing everyone - it was a blast. :)

David, I think you might've had the best seat of all! It was an honor and a pleasure to see you again after all these years. I really had no idea what had happened to you before our senior year -- like you'd just disappeared without a trace.

Prentiss Douthit

patricia!
way to go... you have a photo of mark button! there's not a single one in his 150-count photo album, and he was working pretty hard to avoid the paparazzi all weekend. we can't pay you millions of dollars like the tabloids, but we all appreciate you sharing it with us.

let's go ahead and set the stage for all future reunions:
who votes for tailgating?
who votes for music only if folks can visit WITHOUT YELLING?
who votes for more moonshine, buuba? (gosh, i hope he made it home alright.)
who votes for hal and carlos green to emcee the event?

everyone go ahead and post your requests. now's the time to decide what everyone wants.

09/15/08 09:56 AM #1846

Prentiss Douthit

who votes for paka having his very own bottle opener?
i'm sure katie would be pleased to loan him one.

Prentiss, what else can I say besides I feel like I look better behind the camera instead of in front of it?! Mom was disappointed that she didn't get to see me dressed to the nines Saturday, so I told her that I'd try to save any pictures of me that pop up.

At least we know what the 'B' in Katie's BMW stands for -- "bottle opener".

That being said, I like that pre-planning thought process.
