Hi everyone,   Darrel is improving now. Very difficult time when I can't be by his side. We have the house ready so he can have everything he needs and all his therapy will be done at home. We don't want him going to another facility beings he's at high risk in catching the virus.  We don't want to take any chances with his health. I have to be careful because my immune system is down to.

Hi,   Darrel is off the ventilator and breathing on his own now.  He is improving now.  They have one more test to run tomorrow.  He was to weak to have it today.  They can't give any medicine without talking to me or my daughter since they gave him two medicines that were higher dosage then he was suppose to have. After talking to his doctor he couldn't find out what happen and right away we told him what dosage did you give him in these two medicines. We told him that was way to high for him. When changing his medicine tou don't triple his dosage. It takes him to adjust for or five days before you raise it again.  Very thankful he isurvived this ordeal. He told me late afternoon I want to come home now. Then he started crying after he heard my voice. I felt so bad for him and told him two more days and we will come get you.  Not happy about it but he understands.

Hi everyone,

we got Darrel home late afternoon yesterday.  Very busy time getting him in and out of the car yesterday.  Our daughter called our doctor and he will be coming to the house from now on beings Darrel isn't able to walk right now. He was 90% on Monday until he crashed on them. Now we have to start all over, but he will get back to walking again. It is going to take time but we are going to do everything we can do for him.  He is so glad to be home now and happy to see his family. I'm just thankful he is home and doing good.  The kids are all helping me until we have some help.  Thank everyone for the messages, he certainly mean a lot to me.  It keeps my mind off of other things to. Keep you posted when I can. God bless all of you.

Hi everyone,  the nurse was here yesterday and we are trying to get help for during the night also. We haven't heard when his therapy will start. The nurse said they are really busy and have no aides to help at this time. We are managing for now.  With me just getting back on my feet it is really wearing me down. The kids worry about me. I tell him I will continue to take care of Darrel as long as I have to. I want him to keep improving each day.
Darrel asked Craig and I if he could try and use the walker and of coarse we were going to give him a chance on that. He was able to take four steps and then he had to sit down. I told him at least you try to walk and that was a big step for him.  Since we don't know what thearpy he needs we are trying anything he wants to try for now. We weren't had the hospital for them to show us so we are trying to help him walk and get his left leg working as well as his arm and hand.. I told him it will take time for everything to get back to normal. The doctors thinks he will get back to normal but he has to work very hard to get there. Will be glad when his therapies start. Things so far are going pretty good for now. Will continue to up date you when I can.

Remember, to take care of Darrell, you must first take care of yourself...one day at a time, the common cliche,so space yourself for your good as well as his...

Good morning everyone,  Darrel is using the walker as of yesterday. He really wants to get back on his feet now.  Occupational therapist  worked with Darrel yesterday and showed up a lot of things to help Darrel which we really needed to know. Monday Speech therapy starts also.  Debby and I interviewing a couple people tomorrow to get me some help so we both can get some rest.  We are hoping these two aides will work out.
Darrel only gets up at 4:30 every morning so we are trying to work on schedules also so we know how much I will need to help me. I can't do it all.  My son in law gets my groceries for me. I won't go any where until this virus is over. My doctor doesn't want Darrel or I to go any where right now.  Once I get things settle with Darrel then I can rest. So far everything is going good.  We are all staying positive that he gets back to normal.  Right now he is very positive in doing everything he needs to do to get back on his feet and be able to do the things he enjoys.

Good news Peggy..You are an angel. My daughter in Seattle had virus even though she was home for 3 weeks, but she is fine now. So do stay at home. I have been indoors 3 weeks now. But both my neighbors have had it. All recovering now.

All of us have certainly lived thru some unbelievable times, assasinations, moonwalks, Viet Nam..so many to name and now this. I rank as most severe. Appreciate the updates and good to hear your update to Janet! We are strong and faithful in prayer. Love Class of '64!

Peggy,

So happy to hear that Darrel is home and beginning his road to recovery. As others have mentioned, please don't over do it yourself. Hopefully things will start to really fall into place. It sounds like they are headed that way.

You will continue to be in my prayers.

Take care,

Linda
