School Story

We were in study hall one day when a couple things flew overhead. It turned out to be pancakes, of all things! Terry Meffley sat behind me and, of course, we both started laughing hysterically (that was not unusual for us). I pulled my billfold and a couple pencils out of my purse and pretended it was a tank and I started firing at the pancakes. Terry laughed right out loud! We were busted by Mr. Otten and he came and stood over us with a wooden dowel and demanded to know what was so funny. I thought this would be the end of us for sure, but do you think we could stop laughing? There is nothing worse than nervous laughter! We had to sit in the hallway (one of us at each end of the hall) where everyone could see we had been "bad girls".
