EPILOGUE 2019 REUNION

EPILOGUE - 2019 REUNION

Hi kids!!!

Well, we've created more memories for the DDHS Classes of 1964 and 1965. Fifty-five years is a life time, and we are showing the years with each reunion. But no matter what these old bodies look like these days, there is a sparkle in the eye of everyone who has come to our joint reunions. Some have made them all, others come when they can, and others have come for the first time!  Bob Boutelle, it was good to see you after 55 years!! Sadly, though,we have lost many classmates, but they will never be forgotten.

Here's some information about our reunion. We had a total of 94 who attended. There were 29 guests. The Class of '64 had 16 who attended. The Class of '65 had 49 who attended. After 55 years, I have to say that is pretty impressive attendance. With much prejudice and pride, I feel as is there are no better classes than our two classes, and no classes that have remained close as our two classes. It is such a joy to see people arrive on Friday evening. It's almost as if we want to see and talk with everyone and catch up on life since DDHS.  There is never enough time to see and talk to everyone. What is so heart warming are the smiles and laughter that goes on all evening for both nights of the reunion.

I am lucky because I get to put together this epilogue to our reunion so I get to share my thoughts as well. But, while I put the finishing touches on the weekend here, I invite everyone to share your thoughts and comments on the weekend. If you want to share private thoughts with someone, you can message them thru our Reunion Website at ClassCreator.com. If you want to share comments for the group, you can go to the Message Forum. There is also a link to our reunion on Facebook that is connected to our reunion website.

The committee met a few weeks after the reunion to discuss how the reunion went, the good things, and things that we could improve on. The consensus in the committee is that we want to do this again. One thought that was discussed was to gather again in 2022 for a 75th birthday party for everyone. No other details are available as yet. Your comments and thoughts about that are welcome. The thinking within the committee was that we aren't getting any younger, so if we are going to do this again, better to do it sooner rather than later. Of course, there is always the thought as to if we should do this again. That's always an option, but we want to keep a good thing going, so we agreed that celebrating our 75 birthdays was a good idea. If you have ideas as to format, venue, etc., please share with the committee. Your comments and ideas are important to the committee.

So, on behalf of the reunion commitee, Brian Buzzell, Ron and Betty Wilson, Mary and Phil Kilkenny, Robin and John Hembrook, Terry Mestan, and Sandi Wright-Ballman, we want to say thank you to everyone who attended the reunion. We hope you had a memorable weekend and you made more memories of the DDHS Classes of 1964 and 1965.

Til next time.......

Happy Trails everyone!

Bill Yazbec
