Reunion Follow up

Reunion Follow up and What's next?

First of all, we again want to thank all who attended our 50th/51st Class Reunion in June. As the committee wraps up things from the reunion, we asked ourselves what were the successes and what lessons did we learn. And so, we are asking those questions of you as well. We want to know what you liked about the weekend and any suggestions or comments about what you would like to see done differently or changed. The overall consensus from the comments we've received seems to be that we should do this again in 4-5 years. So, based on that, plan on another one of these coming in a few years. I assure you one change that will be made is that IF we decide to play the Star Spangled Banner to open the weekend, it will NOT be the Jimi Hendrix Woodstock version. Apologies to those who were uncomfortable and/or felt that it was disrespectful in any way. That was certainly not the intent. Lesson learned!!

The committee is asking for input with regard to the next reunion. Some things that we discussed at our wrap up meeting included:

-Is having this over 2 nites okay, or should it be just one night?

     -Sunday breakfast/brunch, picnic?

-Spring, summer, fall for the reunion?

-Food Suggestions, ideas--snacks, hors d' ouvres, nice dinner??

-Location - Lake Lawn, DLYC, InterLaken, or ???

-Comments on the website, and other communications?

-Should we do this casually and more often and anyone who wants to show up will

know when and where because of the published schedule?

-Pictures?  Do you want candids and/or class pics?  Videos?

-Many have asked about helping out during the reunion. Suggestions?

     -Other suggestions for reunion activities?

-Should there be a program/presentation? Topics of interest?

Please send a response to anyone on the committee and it will be passed on to all those on the committee, or post comments on the website.

One final comment.

The classes of 1964 and 1965 have been doing this since our first reunion back in 1970. The committee has usually consisted of classmates who live around the Delavan, southern Wisconsin area. I wouldn't want to miss anyone who has been on the committee over the years, and a very special thanks goes out to all those who have been a part of the reunion committees over the years. However, I do want to specially recognize those who have been a part of every reunion committee since the beginning. A very special thank you to Mary Kilkenny, Ron and Betty Wilson, and Robin and John Hembrook. These folks have been the driving force in making each reunion fun, memorable and so successful. So, thanks to each of you for a lifetime of reunion memories and for all the time and effort to make each reunion something special.
