It is with a heavy heart and sadness that John Benson (our class president) passed away on Tuesday April 5. John was one of my very good friends. He was a good guy, he worked hard, and he always had that impish smile when he made a joke. Inspite, of the miles and time that separated us. He will be missed but always remembered. RIP John. I'm looking forward to seeing you again.

John Benson. Probably one of the first faces I see in my mind when I think of our class of 1965. I'm not sure why. Maybe because he was class president. Maybe because I always admired his work habits and attitude toward getting things done. I can't write this without mentioning his sly smile which I usually interpreted as meaning "Yeah, I'm a serious guy but there's still room for not taking life too seriously." or "Now THAT was funny!" I'm glad I got to dance with him at the 2019 class reunion. He was always a friendly, helpful, positive individual. A neighborhood friend not far from Park School. Condolences to Susan and his immediate family, his Delavan family, and all the many close friends he cultivated over the years. RIP John Benson.

Susan, I am so sorry for you loss. John was a great guy in HS. He was so vital to our class and a good friend to many. I did not know him well as an adult except at our reuinions but i imagine he was a great husband and ccommunity citiizen. So sorry he died. I sure he will be missed by many, but telling stories about John will keep him alive within all of us. Judie Sage
