Donna Lee Cornelison Davies

Donna Lee (Cornelison) Davies, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning of Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at age 56.

Donna Lee Davies was born on Sept. 19, 1947, in Elkhorn, Wis., to Norman and Shirley (Starin) Cornelison. She graduated from Darien Elementary School at eighth grade level and Delavan-Darien High School after the merger. She entered Oshkosh University for her nursing education and subsequently received a bachelor's degree in nursing. She was employed in this capacity until earning a medical coding license and her latest employment was in this field with Wisconsin Physician Services.

Donna was a loving and caring person. She was married to Gary Davies of Lake Mills at the United Methodist Church on April 7, 1973. Both animal lovers, they have provided great homes for them over the years together. She was especially fond of riding in the fall of the year.

She is survived by her parents, Norman and Shirley Cornelison of Delavan; and her husband of 30 years, Gary Davies of Madison. Donna was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; an aunt; and an uncle.

Funeral services will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan on Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at 10 a.m. Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, from 10 a.m. until the time of services . Who could forget Donna. Always bubbly, smiling about something. You could always pick her out in the DDHS marching band -- the one with the cornet and the hat going up and down as she marched along -- she had a distinctive marching gait. Smart, competitive rascal she was. Will long remember a New Year's Eve at Taylor's and jaunts in the Purple Onion to Bandstand dances in Elkhorn. Those really were the days. Jeanne Boviall (Hammond) (1964)

With fun and loving memories of your sparkle and the times you filled our home with those smiles and happy spirit.      Your joy is missed here on this side of heaven!    Glad our families were friends and I got to know you through my sis!!    Look forward to the best reunion some day!!

Manuel Humburg (1965)

I remember Donna vividly. She sat beside me in the trumpet row. She was very supportive. I slowly improved but could never keep up with her in challenges. I can imagine her having done a great job in hospital. Will miss you at the reunion! Manuel
