Sandra (Sandy) Fleming was a spitfire, petite, dark reddish brown hair, freckles to die for and a delightful dancer. After DDHS graduation, Sandy went Oshkosh State University and along the way married Gary Dillenbeck from DDHS '64. Sandy was killed in nothern Wisconsin in a car-truck accident on March 20, 1970. She was in a car with her professor and three other students heading to a Menominie for a pollution control conference at Stout State University. Everyone in the car died instantly.
I remember attending Sandy's funeral at the Baptist Church in Delavan with several other classmates. I don't really recall any of the details of the service, but what I remember most vividly is the smaller coffin I had ever seen. I hoped then and now that I never attend another funeral where the decease is as small a delicate.

I miss her smile, brown eyes, freckles and spunk!
See you on the other side, Thom Holden
