A word from your reunion committee about your reunion committee:  Thanks to Lee Schamberg and Cindy Britton (Picinic) for beginning this effort.  When Lee needed to step away from the work, Cindy sent an SOS message thru Facebook ... a message to which Colleen Pagliuca (Llanos) and I replied in the affirmative,  This was sometime in late 2010 (I think).  Later when Cindy needed to step away, Colleen and I were fortunate to have Vinnie Curcio and Patty Barrow agree to help the effort, bringing their special talents and local proximity. It's been a labor of love for everyone - from Lee and Cindy, to Colleen, Vinnie, Patty and me.  And the only thing we can't wait to see, is our great group of classmates together once again and having a great time!  Hope to see you next year!

This is a public, heartfelt thank you to all who assisted in the process of tracking down contact information on almost every one of our classmates.  It's thanks to all of you that few will not be informed of our 40th reunion.  Thanks go to (in no particular order):  Lee Schamberg, Cindy Britton (Picinic), Tommy Hills, Beth Shaw, Tricia Matthew, Lynn Foster, Marina Graizzaro (Birch), Cindy Conover (Potterton), Debbie Shotliff (Andrews), Holly Reitnauer, Pat Pierce, John Ryan, Rich Baumann and Ginny Lemmon (Radcliffe).  THANK YOU ALL!

Just a quick note to test the system, and to say how great this site is! It will be able to grow by leaps and bounds with everyone's input. Can't wait to see how this develops.  Thanks so much for putting this together!

Sincerely,

Rich B.

PS, I love how our 4th grade picture made the first round......Very nice to see Leary with Mrs. Geary smiley

How is everyone who was in the path of Sandy?  Your loved ones?  Your homes? Your places of business?  Please let us know - your classmates care!

Hi Trish,

Great sight and a great job that you have all done. Thank you for all of the time and effort that you have put into it.

My mother and father moved down to the shore several years ago, left Demarest behind but took all of their memories.  My brothers and sister and I continued to build memories over the years and have had many family reunions  as we gathered for the summer to hang on the deck over looking the bay. It was such a relaxing , great moment each summer. We all raised our children there and built more memories.  Mom and dad are now 82 and 86 and continue to have the hearts of gypsies driving to atlantic city to visit friends , but even their crazy spirits couldn't prepare them for hurricane sandy. They are staying with my brother john in creskill , unable to return to the island for 10 days they are told. If you have seen the photos... they are hoping that the house is still standing .  The ocean broke through and met the bay in north beach so the current was very strong.  Sixty years of a life together , boxes of photos, family antiques all the things that make a house a home were left there. I hope and pray that the pilings held and did their job and that the other floors were saved.  They are alive and warm and doing well so we are fortunate . i will keep you updated as we move along. Hope everyone else did well while fighting the elements.
