The 'real world' hit me pretty hard with a miscarriage 4 days after graduating. I wallowed in that sorrow for years until I finally realized I would have never made it as a parent then.
I spent most of my years after graduation running from life. I went to GCC for a few years and worked at GMS as a supervisor before moving to Orlando, FL in 2004 and working for the Convention Center. After staying there for only a few months I relocated to Austin, TX and enrolled in college again while working for Sears Teleserv and Kindercare. Still not wanting to settle down, I moved to Tampa, FL in 2007. I changed my college career path from Teaching to Social Work and once again began the days of college classes.
In June 2007 the love of my life finally got me to open my eyes and realize he was the one after chasing me for 5 years. We became engaged (again) in Oct 2007 and wed in June 2008.
Along with becoming a wife on June 20, 2008, I became a mother of three. Our oldest two live with us while the youngest princess lives with her mother. In August 2008 we relocated back to Texas to bring the kids closer to each other. We are currently trying to add to our family and I hope to be a mother of 4 by reunion time.
It was a long road finding my place in life, but as I've learned all paths weren't meant to be so smooth and carefree. I do hope to someday finish college and become a Social Worker with the mission of preventing children like I once was from falling through the cracks - but until then I am content in my career of mommy-hood, teaching my oldest son everyday that the 'labels' the doctors choose to give him should not hold him down but make him excel even more.
