Don died on the 20th of May 1972 while hitch hiking in California. A diesel truck threw a tire and it hit him in the middle of the back killing him. Considering that Don had worked through heart problems during the years I had known him it seemed strange to lose him that way.
I remember that Don was excellent in drawing cars. He was drawing dynamic angles about cars back then, mirroring cars of today, similar to the Toyota Yaris and the Corvette. I remember this because I was living two blocks from him and during times after school, I would walk to his house and admire his drawings.
