Wendy Burgess, Constables David Woodruff & Clint Burgess, Mayor Jeff Williams of Arlington numerous council & School board members.Andy Nguyen for Tarrant Co. Commissioner Pct 2 Primary & General Election, Matt Hayes for Justice of the Peace Pct. 7 Tarrant Co. Primary & General, Joe Holland for J.P. in Denton County Primary & General, Raul Gonzalez for Mansfield School Board
and finally Bill Zedler for State Representative General Election which was rated as one of the top five races in the State. All of these went into my win column for the year.
Today Jan. 1 I spent watching my J.P. in Tarrant and my Commissioner being sworn in. Then spent the evening with my family. Already working on a 2012 Election campaign and interviewing candidates for the coming Municipal Elections and others for 2012. I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Grass Roots Institute of Texas and during the fall elections we made some $750K in in-kind contibutions to candidates across the State of Texas and were able to assist in winning more than 20 races.

School Story:

When we were Juniors Steve Riggs was moving out of town. So Don Yarbrough, Steve,Bill Lozano and I went out to the old Tropicana Hotel where I worked to go swiming and then to get something to eat. This was the week that someone had fired a Shot Gun at one of the TWU Dorms and the Denton Police were checking every car that had kids in it. When we left the Hotel we were pulled over on the service road of 35 just past Bonnie Brae by Officer McCain he asked what were doing and after we told him he told us to get our burgers and then get home. We went to the old Dairy Kreme and got something to eat. When we finished we headed around the square to head home and were pulled over by another officer. When he came to the window and asked for my license, he looked at me and asked where we were going, I told him home. He then said:" Wesley there are a lot of Temptations Out Tonight" To which Don Yarbrough responded "I have heard about those Temptations there really good." Fortunately the officer had a sense of humor and just said you boys go on home.

Of course there was the time that Kenton McIntire,Don Yarbrough, and Tracy Cline helped me get over breaking up with Marilyn Matthews the first time by taking me by the boot legger and then to the CoEd Drive In. I had not eaten all day and they figured the best way for me to forget was to chug a quart of beer. When we left we went to the old Truck Stop off of North 35. I felt sorry for the poor waitress as she came took our order brought our food and then, I through it all back up on the table. The guys stayed in to clean up and I went out to Kenton's old panel wagon and crawled into the back seat. When we got to my house my Mother was up waiting, she didn't say anything but I know I looked like the Frankensten Monster or at least as green as he was supposed to be.
