Deb and Carol,

I as well am in total agreement with you both regarding MaryBeth, that is why I wasn't even sure about posting something. We can only hope and pray that there WILL be something that we can do for her. I did call the Town of Boonton this morning to see if there was property listed in her name, but nothing. She must be renting?!?!?!

Happy Birthday to your sister, Deb, and Happy 24th Anniversary to you and your hubby. Michael and I will be celebrating our 21st Anniversary while on vacation in Wildwood Crest. PARTY TIME!!!!!!

Kath,

Did you figure out how to post those pictures yet???? You didn't call last night! Did Pat get home safe and sound? Please give my best to Pat and Dylan!

Kevin-

No, we can't get in trouble for helping her. Lets just not say anything negative about her on this website. It is a different world today!

Thanks for the wishes.......every day is a challenge since Don and I work together. You can only imagine! Right now I'm hours past due getting something done for work but its not my fault the computer is acting up! Anyhow, I must sign off and get something done!

I think Kathy has a handle on the pictures.....drumroll!

Maureen-

I didn't get home from Dylan's football practice until 9:30ish last night. By the time he showered and got to bed, it was too late.

Pat just got home and believe it or not, I think we'll be able to do this picture stuff. I've been playing with it all morning and I think I've got it. We'll see!

If so, that's very exciting!

Scerb-

How old is your son, Pat? Just a thought, if ever he wants to get away or needs a change in scenery, he can always come to see us in Winder. Pat will keep him entertained, that's for sure! You know Pat (my Pat), there's never a dull moment!

You look exactly the same, too. You look wonderful and I sure hope you get your classroom(s) in order.

How is your husband doing with his band?

with love, Kathleen

Yay Me!! Pictures are posted. Can't believe I did it. Thanks Maureen, Deb & Vince for your offers to help. This could be dangerous . . . I didn't realize how easy it truly is. My husband is home and he helped me. He's a great guy and I'm glad he's home!

Dear all,
I am taking all of your words to heart. In the name of privacy, I am going to delete my earlier post and will just say I am still interested in helping if it seems appropriate to those of you closer to the situation. If you don't know what I am talking about that's okay...i don't mean to be confusing anyone.

hey there everybody!
have a great holiday weekend!

kath,
thanks for the offer of having my pat come and visit you and your pat - pat is 27; can you believe that? does your pat remember him from when he was little? how close are you to decatur? that's where he lives...and have you ever been to the biscuit? it's amazing - i love the food in atlanta...i'll have to ask pat if he's ever been to felini's... i was in buckhead last summer when we visited - we went to the cheesecake factory for dinner with some friends who live down there - seems my whole life revolves around eating...

debbie - happy anniversary to you and your husband! and next time i come to hot'lanta let's all get together at the biscuit for breakfast - i can't believe you've been there - their grits are so good, yum...there is also a store that i really like to shop at called "squash blossom" i'm not sure where it is but it's close to the "brick store" they have great clothes...so i guess my life revolves around food and shopping...

maureen - have a great time at the parade and carnival - some of my favorite memories are my father taking me every year to the parade and then the carnival and fireworks - i loved the "boontonware" stand where you had to pitch nickels and dimes onto the plates and cups and if it landed on one, you got to keep it - i can't tell you how many odd pieces of boontonware i must have brought home and my mother had to pretend to love it!!! they also had the best french fries in paper cones...

did everyone catch sean mulholland's profile update and how handsome he looks in his uniform? hey sean, glad to see you're still on the golf course - how is the rest of your family doing?

to all - have a happy and healthy labor day weekend and i can't wait to see you all in october -

and i'm sorry to report that i just found out ray won't be coming with me to the reunion - he will be on a plane to tulsa with j&americans that day - so we won't be getting any "special songs" - he said if he was home he would have played for us...
love,
marianne

Hi Elmer,
Thanks for telling me about Annie Fink. Where is Romantico's in Randolph. I work in Randolph and have no idea where it is. Hope all is well with you.

Kathleen,
My boys, Matt first is doing ok in Baghdad. He can't wait to come home. Dan who is still in SC. will be deployed in Sept. he just told me his window is Sept. 14th. please keep him and Matt in your prayers. I didn't think it was going to be this hard, but I talked with him yesterday and will be going to see him next week for a family day they are having at the base. I can't wait to just hold him and tell him how proud I am to have him as a son!

Why does it have to be soo hard? I best stop....

JoAnn,

Romantico's was once the Seafare. It's on the Eastbound side of Rt. 10. Where do you work in Randolph? I live in Randolph on Quaker Avenue (actually near a Quaker Church) off of Quaker Church Road.

I'll let Annie know that I know another of her customers who remembered her.

Lisa and Kevin,

I read those very touching comments you wrote about Tom. Your description of him reminds me very much of my brother Damon, who was very active in the New York club scene at that time. My brother also still talks about a club that was once in Jefferson (I can't recall the name).

I remember running into Tom several times while I was in college, in Kenvil of all places, and chatting with him briefly. It's too bad I didn't stay in touch. I was always too caught-up in the future at the expense of the present.

Those were sad times. I remember when my sister's best friend died of AIDs contracted from a blood transfusion (due to blood loss when she gave birth to twins). She didn't tell my sister what was wrong with her until the very end because she was worried that she and her daughters would be shunned by the community.

At any rate, I have to sign-off from the message forum for several weeks while I am away.

My best to all,

Elmer

One, or perhaps two, more things...

Kevin,

I remember your shop. It was next door to an antique shop if I remember correctly. When my brother was decorating my townhouse in Hackettstown, he and I actually went into your showroom. I have to say, I didn't recognize you at the time.

Elmer

Elmer Dante

Kevin,

Here's the one other. Glad to hear you had no damage. My mother and my brothers have been complaining about the state of central Florida. Although they had no damage, a number of nearby communities have had a good deal of flooding.

Additionally, every creature that you might want to remain a safe distance is no longer distant (i.e., alligators, fire ants, etc). Of course, this is coming from a man whose grandparents had a pet alligator in a bathtub who was fed the best cuts of steak every night (by their cook) until he became so big, they donated him to the Bronx Zoo. (I guess you could pay people to do anything during the Great Depression.)

At any rate, one of my brother's JR terriers decided to do battle with a poisonous snake. Fortunately she is fine; however, my brother mentioned that he has seen more snakes than ever.

My best,

Elmer

Deb- Mother's was up on 23 in Wayne. It's gone, has been for years. The building was there for a long time but it's been torn down now. The whole area is now a huge commuter parking lot.

The Strawberry Patch is now a go-go bar called Lace. At least it was the last time I went to the DMV.

You're 100% right about boiled peanuts. But these are the same people that invented the Po Boy. For those that don't know it's the southern version of a sub sandwich except instead of a roll it's on the equivalent of a giant hot dog bun. Oh yeah, and then they steam it and serve it hot. Doesn't that sound yummy.... with a side order of boiled peanuts.

Vince, Could you post the link you found for Angus for everyone here on the forum. I think they would enjoy it. By the way, I think that was also him in the Santana tribute band.
Thanks again,

Joanne-

Your post almost made me cry! I know how filled with pride you must be, but at the same time, he's still your baby! How long will he be gone for? Where do you get to go visit him? That will be so nice for you to see him! Just trust that God will protect him and know that he'll be home soon. Just not soon enough for a mom, right?

Have you spoken with Marcia lately? Will you please tell her I said hello?

Love ya, Kath

08/29/08 09:45 PM #676

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

JoAnn,

My heart goes out to you knowing that this is so difficult for you, as it would be for any mom! I find alot of solitude in prayer and I'm sure you do too. And I hope you know we are all praying for the continued safety of your sons! .

Vince,

Darn, Mothers is gone? A commuter lot? Wow. But I guess it shouldn't surprise me. Have you ever had a pulled pork sandwich? They're real big down here in GA. My husband loves them! For those who don't know what they are, they are just what they sound like....pork pulled apart and shredded into fine pieces and then served on a hamburger bun smothered in barbecue sauce. Quite tasty if you like pork.

OK for those that are interested here are the links I found for Angus. Apparently he was playing with this band in Clearwater, FL. There was also an unlisted phone number for him in the area.

But here's his new gig. Couldn't find any listings for him in Nashville. Maybe it's too soon.

You all are the best!! I am proud, as Maureen "Sully" said to me. Its just hard to think that both of them will be gone at the same time, and to think about Thanksgiving, Christmas...oh man...my daughter, I feel the most for, she has no one to tease her, as she got her permit, I forget how exciting that was. She is a bit afraid to drive on the highways, and big hills....does anyone remember that??

You all made me feel a bit better. My bday is tomorrow, actually today...yeah!! and Bucky, from your way long post ago....this is what 48 feels like!! Had a few margaritas and feel pretty good right now...haaa...

Thanks for caring and sending me good wishes....and keeping them in your prayers. If I could hug you all right now I would.

Elmer,
I work at a compounding pharmacy on rt. 10 right next to the Eduacational Warehouse. (A&P) Do you know where that is? Have a great vacation.

Kathleen,
I will tell Marcie you said hello. She has two boys and is busy with starting school. She is a phys. ed. teacher right now. she bought her parents home and looks great!

You are right about Carol Vallone, I crack up everytime she has a post. I think she should write a book , or go on tour, she is funnier than most comedians. Carol, get them rolling, how do you do it?? Love it!! Makes me smile:) thanks I need it right now

Have a wonderful weekend everyone..hope to be at the reunion.....

want to say hi to Vince too....how are you?? Long time....holy moly....will you be at the reunion too??
