Oh my God, you cannot get one up on Maureen...that was my best shot (get it) and I get zinged!!! Maureen, I swear on Sister Georgine that I will cheer for the Blue Devils in all their games unless of course the seas should part and pigs begin to fly and they somehow find themselves playing Arizona somewhere along the line. How the H#@$% did we get in anyway?????
Deb...rebound...really good one! Also, Are you really Italian? I wouldn't have guesssed it.

Jim Rampone is in the house!...Smart man ..Married a girl named Lisa. Hello Jim. Welcome to our small but loving clan. Looking forward to hearing from you. Maybe you can keep Buck-naked Bucky Bubba Sunshine in line!

Anyone wanna play the basketball brackets?
xoxo Lisa

Debbie....abstinence in all areas is going as well as can be expected, although I admittedly am just a tad TENSE due to the aforementioned current areas of abstinence! :P

Lisa - I knew you were a class act! And the chants for Arizona shall dribble henceforth. Love to try the brackets but am sure you‘ll have a run on me.

Deb - agree, didn’t realize you were Italian. As you can guess, I’m not, but my holiday comes first. You in with us on the brackets?

Oh yeah- I'm in! GO MSU! Got to get a schedule put up on my fridge, I am so forgetful! And yes- my mother is Italian and my dad's Ukrainian. And better yet, my husband is 100% German creating a very interesting mix in our girls!

Hi Guys!
Enjoy reading the posts. Just a clarification-The Feast of St. Joseph is on Thursday, March 19th. It will be my 15th wedding anniversary, and how quickly the time has flown! We had our wrap-up for our Diocesan Catholic Women's Conference. We had 1,600 women attend-not bad for our second year! The men had their conference 2 weeks ago and they had 1200 or 1400 or 1500 men(depending on who was telling the story-kind of like a fish story!). But they did well and their's is 10 years in the making! I now have a little breather since the Conference is behind me, until next year?!

Hard to believe that our reunion was almost 6 months ago. Unfortunately, we'll not be able to make it for the Spring BBQ. It's funny, but they don't call it that out here in Ohio-we just call it a "cook out". BBQ is "pulled pork on a roll". It does taste good!

Hope Spring comes soon! It's suppose to be near 70 tomorrow!

Sleep tight.
Lisa

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! May the luck of the Irish be with you today! I was able to tap into some of that luck earlier today and got a great parking spot in a tourist zone and didn’t even get a ticket. New pictures now posted of that and other expeditions.

Thank you Tom for sharing the touching video. I truly appreciate our service members and their families and remember them everyday! Just saw Jim Rampone's new posting about his sons - I’m sure the Rampone family is very proud of their sons for their dedication to our country.

We need a day to celebrate the love of the Italians! And I don't like the new facebook setup - do not want my comments to one person to show up everywhere else or am I understanding this wrong. I'm sure there's some kind of filtering to prevent this but I haven't figured it out yet. So help me Tom and Lisa and Liz!

Jimmy Rampone- When did you go to Aruba? We were there in '98 way before the Natalie Holloway incident. Loved how the island changed from one side to the other being it borders the Atlantic on one side with incredible rock formations and caves whereas the other side borders the Carribbean and is nothing but sandy beaches.

Maureen - I want your life!

Hi Everyone,
Was a great day today, finally again!!
Maureen....in your past posts you mentioned "Hummer" at Parris Island. Well, if I can find the pic somewhere, I will post it. I have a pic of him!! Took it on my son Dan's graduation day.
I work at a compounding pharmacy in Randolph. They have 4 pharmacists that work there, I am a technician, trained there. Its a lot of fun. Its like cooking, you have a recipe and follow directions. The pharmacist is there to check your chemicals and make sure all weights are accurate. We make a lot of medications for animals. The neatest one was an eye med for a gorilla at Great Adventure. They used a squirt gun to get the meds in his eye!
Anyway, hope everyone is doing great and had a wonderful St. Patty's Day. My daughter and I went to the Quiet Man for dinner in Dover. It was packed and we got to see a bagpiper play.

Deb: There is St. Joseph's day on March 18. It is huge here in Brooklyn. Special pastries are made just for that day which are delicious. There are also traditional meals which Sicilians serve that they say are handed down from St. Joseph. That one is a little far-fetched but it is a fun holiday anyway.

03/19/09 05:45 PM #1496

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

MaryAnn- There we go- there's our Italian holiday! And just mentioning the pastries makes my stomach roar! Remind me next year.... maybe I'll come into town just for the event. Isn't there a "Little Italy" in Long Island somewhere? I seem to remember something of the sort! How do you like city living????

JoAnn- I would bet the gorilla was all but pleased when the meds were squirted into his eye, but was he sedated???

03/19/09 06:06 PM #1497

Maureen Farrell

Deb - you are too funny! The parsimonious benefactor that finances my expeditions often expresses an equivalent sentiment. Undeniably your life is more noteworthy with a wonderful family and patronage of noble causes (not to mention you get to travel in a golf cart everyday).

JoAnn - Glad that you met Hummer. Awaiting the pictures! What a rewarding career you must enjoy! We have had many a dog who needed life saving drugs only available through compounding pharmacies. What a blessing!

The Quiet Man sounds like a much more hospitable “Irish” experience than the frisk and boot search I was subjected to in Belfast. Nobody knows the troubles I’ve seen.

Lisa H - Happy 15th Anniversary to you and your husband! Congratulations on the successful conference.

And Happy St. Joseph’s Day (since we love the Italians, we’ll devote both the 18th and 19th to them and St. Joseph).

Hi All,
Maureen, I made my pics at 7:00am before the action started. I generously took the Poo Devils, uhhh, I mean the Blue Devils, into the Elite eight and then have Pittsburg knocking them off. I tried to be true to my promise to you but I may have failed somewhat.
ps. On my sheet, my Wildcats barely survive the first round so...... It should be fun. Maybe we can check in on how our picks went after the first round. Deb, are you in? Anybody else???? We have to think of a prize!
Glad to hear from Jim and Mary Anne. Mary Anne, I put you in charge of bringing Italian Pastries to the May 30th party.
xoxo Lisa

LISA AND MAUREEN- Yes I'm in but its been quite a crazy week! (Three hours in my accountant's office today and more problem solving at city hall has just about put me under for the week not including the havoc my youngest seems to be causing lately because she can never find anything due to her room being a disaster. Definitely very fulfilling!) Anyway, I haven't picked any teams and need to see who's in the tournament although nobody else matters besides MSU! (Just kidding Maureen!) I have a niece at Villanova so of course I'm rooting for them..... will get back to you.

Jimmy R- And don't forget the divi trees! Got such a kick out of seeing them. We hope to head back there someday. The snorkeling was about the best we've ever done, even better than Hawaii. (Sorry Greg!)

Hey- send me some of those Italian pastries if there's any left over!

03/19/09 11:01 PM #1501

Maureen Farrell

Lisa - Very funny! I'm probably playing with the heart and not the head, but I've got UConn and Duke battling it out at the end, with Duke the victor. (Well, ok, I'm sure it will be UNC vs. UConn, but that is not what I want to admit to in writing.)

As an early birthday present for you, I shall cheer for the Wildcats tomorrow!

Not happy right now, Duke losing their edge against Binghamton. Is it just me or does UCLA appear to be rather disheveled tonight?

Deb - Sorry about your week, but it is almost over, right? Don't worry about the brackets, you can copy mine and we'll share the prize! You don't want to hear it, but I have MSU up against UConn in the final four. Sorry, I had to go with UConn to face the Blue Devils.

03/20/09 08:55 AM #1502

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

Maureen- I'm not surprised....interesting to note my sister graduated from UConn and my brother from MSU! The UConn women also have an incredible history of championships under their belts. I have to agree on your choice. Where do you think Villanova will end up? Just saw them in one game and they looked pretty good! (I actually enjoy college ball better than professional ball!)

Sometimes when so many things go wrong, we tend to remember the negative things more but alot of positive things happened this week as well. We have finally reached neutral ground with the building dept. Tonight we are going to see the Stanley Cup Champs Detroit Red Wings play along with some friends who have never been to a hockey game. Can't wait!

JoAnn- your job sounds so interesting! Did you major in Chemistry?

Hey guys

just sitting here buck naked trying to type also with snausages for fingers. Does anyone know or care about another national tournament going on in St. Louis? The NCAA wrestling finals. If you get a chance to watch it I know it won't dissapoint you.

The wife and I are taking the kids to Aruba for our 20th anniv. We went there for our honeymoon. (without the kids)
Jim, congrats about your son and great pictures of the family.
Time to get some clothes on,it's getting cold.Speaking of cold turkey, where's Bez?

Lisa - Hurrah for the Wildcats! Watch out for those Demon Deacons in the next round!

Deb - I don’t know anything about hockey except the penalty box. Is it fun to watch? Wouldn’t you know, I have Duke over Villanova in the Sweet Sixteen.

Bucky - Will try to catch some wrestling matches. Is there anyone we should watch? Aruba, that sounds wonderful. I agree with Deb and prefer the waters down there over the Pacific.

03/21/09 10:57 AM #1505

Lisa Coppola

Hey Maureen, we both get to go to round 2! Yippee. I made really good picks...had 27 of 32 correct. Of course I missed on W.F and Ohio State...wow.Did you watch those two games! I have Michigan State and Pitt in the final with Pitt. winning so I'm probably on shaky ground. I will root for the Dukies to take care of Texas (sorry Greg N....if you care) and the Wildcats get Cleveland St. which should be easier than Wake Forest...I bet that's what Wake Forest thought! Enjoy the games. What's everybody up to today?

Bucky..put some clothes on. Hey you won't need too much more than a speedo...which we know you own, for the Aruba trip! More seriously, Happy 20th! Good job. Maybe we can all meet the lucky girl some time.
xoxo Lisa

03/21/09 02:44 PM #1506

Maureen Farrell

Lisa - You did much better than I did with the brackets. I only got 24 of 32 right, but my final four are still standing! I only saw the end of the Arizona game last night. They really deserved the win. Too bad that extra basket didn’t go thru the net! I spoke too soon about the Demon Deacons -- can’t believe they lost, but that should provide the Wildcats with an extra boost on the road to the Sweet Sixteen!

Hi all,
I guess everyone is busying watching basketball. Can't get into it.
Maureen Love the photos you posted. Beautiful scenery. Your dogs look great.
Jim Rampone, great to hear from you.
Been busy with family and work. I'm about to take a hike with my dog at Jockey Hollow. Im sure it will be pretty muddy with the thaw going on. Glad see the sunshine and feel the warmth.
I'll go to the family picnic. We should be around,
Liz Congratulations with the non smoking.
take care
Margaret
