Deb,Hope I didn't sound like I was reprimanding you in the above post (you know I wouldn't). When I read what I had written I thought...ewwww that could be misconstrued. Anyhow, I hope you know I'm not like that.

My daughter had her commencement this Sunday from HS. 1200+ kids, but they moved it thru briskly. I still can't believe it has been 30 years and that we now have our own kids graduating! It feels like yesterday, although it was alittle embarrassing when i won all those awards (valavictorian, saludatorian, best legs, best athalete, best physics student, math team MVP, "car and driver" car of the year, miss NJ, american idol seeson 1 winner, and best speller! hope you all had a great memorial day weekend... bill

Lisa- oh not at all misconstrued....I thought about posting a picture of the pig's head...do not have one of the body because his position was quite grotesque and I couldn't bear to look at it for long. So I took one when it was only the head left with the apple in his mouth. But I won't post it, don't want to turn anyone off! Everything went great, even had a rain shower but we were in a barn and were able to stay dry. It was quite an experience! (Tom- sorry the train didn't make it in time....next time I will give you more notice!)

Bill- wow, 1200 graduates? We have almost 500 and I thought that was alot. Our commencement is Friday night and it is outdoors in the stadium so pray the weather cooperates! And yeah I remember you winning all those awards....but all said and done you were probably one of the most easy going guys in our class!

Debbie K,

The Pig Roast sounds like a lot of fun, Loretta's family used to have Pig Roasts every winter and up to a 100 people would show up with covered dishes etc. Much more food than any Thanksgiving that I been to.

The pig would be hung on a rotisserie ( where is spell check on this thing any way?) at 6 am with Bloody Mary's in full force. We would have Pork Skin deep fried in their own grease for Cracklins. ( Don't tell my Cardioligist that I haven't met yet) Then it was time for a "nap" until people would show up at 2 pm. Bands would play until the wee hours. Typically the only thing left of the Pig was the OINK. Great Food and Fun but a brutal 300 mile trip home the next day.

I worked on a ranch about 80 miles from the house a couple of weeks ago and they have a huge wild hog problem. The owner gave me the keys to the ranch and let me know that I am welcome to put as many Piggies in my freezer as I can handle, The local Meat packing plant will process them to my specification at $0.90/#.

Time to take care of the Pig's Lead deficiency and have my own Roast. I let you know how it turns out

Hence the phrase "pigging out".

Greg, you tell great stories. There's a little Prairie Home Companion in you!

I'd like to send a big huge Happy Birthday hug and Kiss to Cheryl. Have a fabulous birhday Cheryl. If any of you see her on the 30th...give her a smooch from me. Thanks.

Happy Birthday to Margaret and Cheryl. May you have another fabulous year full of good health and happiness!

Cheryl, The Real Pastry Boss of NJ -- may your dreams always be sweet and your fondant always be smooth! Seriously, thanks for all you have done for your classmates and organizing this site!!

Hope you don’t mind a wisecrack on your birthday regarding two amusing new TV shows based in NJ -- “The Real Housewives of NJ” on Bravo TV and “Cake Boss” on TLC.

Maureen,
Since you brought up the Real Housewives of New Jersey (I love watching all of them) I was at the Christmas Tree Shop in Paramus on Sunday with my sisters. Who comes walking into the store but Dina from Housewives of New Jersey. I just stopped and looked at her and she starting smiling. We had a brief conversation and then she had to go. I really wanted to ask her about Danielle from the show because she is quite the b...h!!!

Maureen (Bez),
That is way too funny! Did she have the camera crew with her? Will we see you on an upcoming episode? Those shows keep me in stitches.

Deb,
Hope the pig roast was fun and that nobody went hog-wild! Good luck with the graduation celebrations.

Lisa,
Agree, one of these days… but in the meantime I must have my mad cow. If you haven’t heard - no hugs between classmates in NJ anymore! Just saw it in the Times - some schools in NJ are banning hugs.

Hope the weather is great and that everyone has a fun day at the class picnic.

Mary Grace, so glad to hear that Ryan made it home safely from Seaside - not easy now a days being a parent, and of course, now I truly understand what our parents went through.
I will be posting pictures of the bbq throughout the day; trying to get motivated at 4:00 in the afternoon and do some chores before the weekend is over.
Be back in a few.
