Marine Corps Pvt. Farnsworth Dies of Cancer
 

PFC Dexter B. Farnsworth IV, USMC, died of cancer January 12, 1966 at the Bremerton Naval Hospital. Private Farnsworth, 20, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dexter B. Farnsworth III, 23447 26th Ave. S., Kent.

He was a 1964 graduate of Mt. Rainier High School and enlisted in the corps in December, 1964. After boot training, he was sent to sea school in San Diego. He served aboard the carrier USS Oriskany until he became ill last October.

Private Farnsworth is survived by his parents; a sister, Candace M. of the home; maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. R.R. Mellon of 29 Palms, Calif., and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Zelma Farnsworth of Springfield, Mo.

A Military funeral was held January 15 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent. Private Farnsworth was born December 10, 1945, in Springfield, MO.
