I was always the "instigator", so I'll start, as usual. :) Here's a sentence to bring back memories. Can anyone relate?
"I will remember to bring my leasure pleasure reading materials to English Class every day from now on Mr. Norris, Sir."
I had to write it about 10,000 times. And that sentence, for a check in on reality, is 24 years old... Where did the time go???

Hey Kelly! Thanks for starting the ball rolling. How are you? Do you ever keep in touch with Dave Hoffman? Sherry Feldten and I still talk almost every day. I cannot believe that we graduated 20 years ago! Man you are not lying - Where has the time gone?...

Thank you to all who put this site together, great job. Sandy said it all, hard to believe it has been 20 years.

I, too, want to thank the committee for all the work you've put into the site and planning the reunion. You've done, and are doing a great job. Sorry we won't be there to enjoy, but, thank you!

I am really sorry I will miss the reunion, I will be on vacation. Not only will I miss seeing all of you, but it will be one of the first times my daughter, Tori, will be playing Trumpet in the MW Marching Band. She will be a freshman this fall, I can't believe it! So will you all cheer her on for me please? Thanks and what a great idea this webiste was, I have read all of the profiles and realized I need to write more on mine....

I am really looking forward to our "20 Year Reunion". Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen.

FYI: I don't know if anyone else has had any trouble with sending other classmates a message, but the one classmate I did send one to, never received it nor did I receive the one she sent.

Hello Sandy and Kelly,

It has been a long time. Kelly your daughter looks just like you when you were in highschool. Sandy you look great. Sandy, I am just going to the beacon, my husband has to work in the morning. I will be there later on. Let me know if you are still going.

Cyndi:

I'm coming equipped with photos too! I think between you and me, we'll have the whole night covered (free beer). How sweet... :)

If we "miss the bell", we'll just blame Debbie. But don't let Cathy O. drive - she puts diesel gas in cars.

:) Has anyone fore-warned the Beacon that there is a crap load of crazy drunks coming???

I always said I would go back, if only for a day. Guess this is the day! Who's got the bail money??

Thanks to everyone that came! I have a total blast connecting with old friends (Cyndie, Kelly and Krista) and making new ones (Ed and Matt Banasiak, Krista's very cool husband)

I agree - we are all crazy if we wait even 5 more years. We need to start planning the 21 year reunion - I will be on the commitee!

Oh my god! How fun was that. Kelly: You "were" still drunk yesterday. How did you enjoy sleeping on that air mattress on my family room floor? Thanks for giving me the couch since my bed was taken by another couple. It really did seem like we went back for a day didn't it? Thanks to Pete, Cathy O., her brother (for the ride there),Therese, Sandy, Tim, Lori, James (for the ride home-9 people in one minivan), Jim P., Craig W. Mia (you were the nicest girl in high school) Tom N.. etc... et... etc...

I will SO be on the planning committee with Sandy - Cyndi - you too. Once a year. Pick a weekend. Say, Third weekend of July?? EVERYONE is welcome, and so are children. Camping Ground, resort, you name it. This way it gives everyone a year to plan, no need to worry about what to do with the kids, etc.

Feel free to email if you are in on this - we'll start planning next year now. Open to any and all suggestions, and again, this is for EVERYONE.

mzkgrl08@yahoo.com

Also, my answer yesterday was brief, as that was about all the brain cells I could conjure up. Yes, it was amazing to go back for "just a day". It was surreal to me at times - faces, bringing back places and more memories. A few "oh my God!" moments, and seeing old "loves".

Karen D., you on for the 21st committee?? Erin W. can bring some "real" food. :)

Two questions - Jim, are your tires are shocks still holding up?? And, Wesley, did you find your way home?? lmao. Yes, it was 4am.

10/01/08 02:13 PM #18

Kelly Krumwiede (Klotz)

We have to get Tommy N. on this committee then, he usually has the escape route planned out! LMAO.

Oh yes, permits etc. will be acquired - if we get enough people, we can rent out the whole camp ground/cabin's, whatever we decide to do.

Wait Cyndi, you're on land? We'll just have the party at your house. lol.

POTENTIAL DONORS MUST BE:

What is DKMS?
DKMS – short for Deutsche Knochenmarkspenderdatei
(German for Bone Marrow Donor Center) – is the
world’s largest bone marrow donor center with over
2 million registered donors. The goal of DKMS is to make
more bone marrow donors available to patients
around the world with leukemia and other blood
cancers who are in need of a transplant. Since its
founding in 1991, DKMS has facilitated more than
18,500 transplants.
Why YOU are so important as a bone marrow
donor?
• Every 10 minutes blood cancer takes a life.
• Leukemia is the most common disease children
and young adults in the U.S die of, and a bone
marrow transplant may be their only chance for
survival.
• Only 3 out of every 10 patients will receive the
transplant that could save their lives.

What is my commitment if I register?
You:
• Will also be listed on the national Be the Match
Registry until your 61st birthday, unless you ask to
be removed
• Will consider donating to any searching patient
who needs a bone marrow transplant
• Will keep DKMS updated if your contact
information changes

How do I become a bone marrow donor?
• You need to meet the eligibility requirements
and understand your commitment
• You need to complete a registration form
• You need to swab your cheeks using a cotton-
tipped swab to collect cheek cells which will
identify your HLA tissue-type
What is the donation process like?
• If you are found to be a match, a DKMS
representative will contact you.
• You will answer a health questionnaire, and
if all is fine, you will go on for additional
testing. (blood test and physical exam)
• If you are still the best suitable donor, you
will go on to donate in 1 of 2 ways.

1. Peripheral Blood Stem Cell (PBSC) – This
procedure, called apheresis, involves receiving a
medication that increases the number of the
donor’s blood cells and then these cells are
collected directly from the blood stream. Some
donors have reported some bone or muscle
achiness, but the side effects disappear shortly after
the collection.

2. Bone Marrow Extraction - Marrow donation is a
surgical procedure, usually outpatient. With this
procedure, the cells are directly collected from the
pelvic bone. Most patients report some soreness in
the lower back for a few days after the donation, but
nothing that should prevent you from your daily
activities. (No Heavy Lifting/Strenuous Workout).

Other Ways YOU can help
• Make a monetary contribution at
www.dkmsamericas.org, or write a check
made payable to DKMS Americas
• Organize a bone marrow donor drive in
your community, at your office or school
• Encourage eligible family members and
friends to register with DKMS
• Join us on MySpace and Facebook and
follow us on Twitter. Enter DKMS Americas.
• Help DKMS raise funds. Organize a fundraiser
or go to Firstgiving.com and create your own
DKMS Americas fundraising page

REGISTERING AS A BONE MARROW DONOR
IS MORE THAN A CHEEK SWAB.
IT IS A COMMITMENT TO HELP SAVE A LIFE.
