I'm somewhat dismayed that no one made any comments about John. In Northville he was a star but then again there's that Great Divide between east side/ west side.

I copied this link to an article about him, I don't think anyone could do it better except Bob Ambrite.

If anyone has visited his restaurant in downtown Northville, Genitti's Hole in the Wall, they were probably entertained by his mother-in-law Babe. She was a typical eastsider; New York attitude with a Mid-western accent and a bawdy sense of humor. She had a tongue that when provoked could lash a head off only after she made sure you weren't hungry. "Did you get enough to eat you lazy bastard?" Babe had my number. She was related to my wife, Flora Cusumano, whose father and uncles owned Cusumano Brothers Produce in Eastern Market.

The restaurant had a corner set up replicating the store fronts at Gratiot/ Harper, commonly called Cacalupo which meant streetcar loop or Wolf's shit depending on the mood you were in.

I didn't know John well in school but he sure was highly regarded in Northville.
