Karen was my friend from elementary school at Columbus. Karen is in the third row far right side next to Charlene Flick. The principal put us in separate classrooms because we played hookey together. She died just after graduation from kidney failure after a gallbladder operation.
Karen Karsney and I both attended Charity Luthran Church (right next to Denby) and Sunday School together. We were church and youth group friends yet sadly not school friends. I was a freshman at WMU when my mom called me on the dorm phone to tell me that Karen had been ill,had surgery and passed away. It was such a shock to know of her passing so unexpected and just a short time after graduation from high school.
