Diane and I were best girlfriends since we met when we were both 12 years old in grade school, middle school, and Denby High School. We grew up three blocks from each other and always spent time together as well as with mutual friends. She was practically like my second sister growing up throughout the years. In our mid life years we shared our lives raising our children; each of us having two sons close in age and Diane's two Korean daughters, the youngest being my Goddaughter. Diane unfortunately was not in the best of health throughout her lifetime. In recent years she endured more physical pain but nothing would stop her determination to keep a cheerful outlook on life and to be the best person she could be. Diane was extremely talented in art and always enjoyed decorating her lovely Victorian home in St. Clair. We spent countless times shopping and enjoying each other's company. Diane passed away on October 15, 2012 with Liver Cancer. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her and miss her. She'll always be a special person in my life that I had the privilege to know.
