Rick was my date for Senior Prom.  What a gentle man he was -- and a gentleman.  He had a ready smile and we had some great times together.  Such a sweet and fun fellow.  This makes me so very sad.  Way too young to die.  When I think of him I remember especially the picutre my parents took of us just before we left for prom.  I had a pink hoop skirt...and he wore a grey suit. He was so handsome. Wish I could find that picture. He was such a dear and will surely be missed by those who knew and worked with him. I had heard he was a priest at a parrish near me but I never went to see him there. Now of course, I'm very sorry that I didn't ever find out more and visit him. It would have been so wonderful to see him again.

I knew Rick from 2nd grade at Carleton Elementary School all the way to graduation from Denby in January 1965. Always a very nice guy!  I was surprised to learn that Rick had entered the preisthood and stayed in the Detroit area all these years.  May he rest in peace!    Chris Delwiche   (RVN 67-68)

I knew Rick from the 5th grade Carleton on through Denby High.  He was a very kind person and very smart.  I always figured he would go far in the business or technical fields....but to my surprise he became a Priest. I was told he was at St Jude and I guess he stayed there the rest of his life.  I am sure he will be missed by the community there and by the church.  Way to young to go...but then none of us that grew up with him are getting any younger. Rest in Peace Rick.........Marty Palmer

I was so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I remember his keen intelligence, his inherent decency, and his wonderful wit. My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and associates.

Also, Edie, I remember that  Scarlet O'Hara hoop skirt you described. Hardly room for any of the rest of us in the car!
