I was saddened to hear of Chuck's passing. We had some good times together. One that stands out is the Saturday I spent with Chuck at the small Lansing radio station where he worked weekends. We were the only ones there and he did it all - read the news, played music, and we even recorded a couple of commercials together.  Here's an obituary I found online.

Patyk, Charles "Chuck", passed away on May 21¸ 2015, at Cleveland Clinic, from complications following open heart surgery. He went in to the surgery confident that he was in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. His family agrees.
His daughter Sandy, his son Christopher, and I have lost our best friend and compass. There are many family members, friends, and co-workers who will miss his engaging personality and wit. He was a people magnet. His career highlights include being a WHAS Radio newscaster during the 1974 tornadoes, putting WZZX-FM on the air, operating a small chain of video stores, participating in local politics, and working in the medical field to enhance and improve patient experience. He loved spending time with the assorted animals we had rescued over the years. There was always room for one more.
Please join our family and celebrate his life on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Hillbilly Tea, 120 South 1st St, Louisville, KY, 40202.
We look forward to spending time with you on Friday night. Madeleine "Mike" Patyk.

Chuck was full of life and full of hope before he went to the Cleveland Clinic.  We were in touch.  He was happy, funny (as always) and wanted to plan to meet after his recovery.  Chuck was one of the kindest, gentlest men I have known.  We managed to make a few waves up in East Lansing.  He was a very good man.

Bill Jamison, Mike Adamski and I remember Chuck Paryk like it was yesterday.  While at Denby we worked part time at radio stations WQRS and WMUZ-Fm's Detroit.  We stayed in touch through the college years.  Will not forget the times we recorded our selfs as D.J's in my basement.  Also recall Chuck on air in Howell, Lansing WILS.  Precious Memories!
