News/Updates

Most of you will remember Kevin Bloodworth. He started at DC and finished at Walton. He was recently diagnosed with a large brain tumor and is fighting a very challenging battle right now that he is determined to win. He has recently been back in touch with many old friends from Douglasville. He is keeping a very uplifting attitude and asks that everyone keep him in your prayers. He lives in Canada with his picture perfect family and has his own show. It is based around a character named "Mr. B". The quote below was taken from a recent press release in Canada. I have asked Kevin to keep us up to date on his progress.

See his website link above for more details of what he has been up to.

"Doctors have recently determined that “Mr. B” (Kevin Bloodworth) has developed a stage 3 brain tumor over the past 5 years that has been diagnosed as the very rare:

 Oligoastrocytoma.

Inspite of early speculation and negative concern over this type of tumor doctors have turned more and more optimistic with every week that passes with Kevin’s observation and treatments.

Most recently doctors have shared with Kevin and his family that based on the Kevin’s age (37 years young) his health prior to surgery, his Faith and his attitude his recovery is tracking in a percentage of rare survivors of this tumor, increasing medical confidence in the overall outcome of Kevin’s success with his treatment and the growing probability that all of our prayers and faith are being answered and as Kevin says “We are just six weeks away (Kevin’s next MRI) before the Doctor’s figure out what I already know....That I am healed”
It’s this type of optimism, along with the surgical success and miraculous post surgery results, that gave doctors the confidence to release Kevin from Hospital a remarkable 48 hours following his brain surgery and tumor removal, and most recently cleared Kevin to return to light cardio activity and a moderate fitness routine, to which Kevin ads:

“I have to do something quick to stop my face from expanding! If I get any more bloated from these medications I will start to float in the bathtub”

We would ask that you continue to keep “Mr. B” lifted up in prayer as the toughest part of his battle is underway with rigorous Radiation and Chemotherapy (Every Day) for the next several months.

Kevin remains optimistic, and humorous as always, but none the less is relying on and draws strength from our support and prayers."
