There were 2 Gus Asbell's when I did a search.  THe one in Tyler TX, has died, but there is another Gus still doing OK in NJ.  Anyone know where our Gus is / was living?  WVG

Thanks Wayne!!  Anyone who hears anything, please post.  Hoping for the best.  According to his class profile, Gus lives in the Dover area.

Someone named Rodney Lane from Dover, New Jersey posted last Sunday on Facebook that Gus had died. I used to work with him before he retired a few years back. Such a nice man!!

Just spoke to Tommy Hueston. Gus had two heart attacks and knee replacement in recent years.  Went to doctor last week and recd clean bill of health...Was watching tv Sunday; wife looked over at him at some point and he was gone.  He lived an "colorful" life

Thanks James.  What we all hope for is to live joyously and leave quickly.  If anyone speaks to his wife, please send heartfelt sympathy from the Class of '73.

Do any of these places we are looking at for the reunion allow you to BYOB?  The only reason I am asking is I have several half-bottles of a unique New Mexico wine mady from the Prickly Pear fruit of a cactus (Nopolito) and thought, since I am driving out to Jersey, I could bring some to give away.  Either way, I will bring some..

Aren’t we committed to Cinders or am I wrong? I was just curious as to when we need to firm it up and how do we go about paying?

Me too, Louie.  I approve of whatever the group decides; but, I need to know due dates/deadlines.

Resonable. We are locking it down in the next week or so.

Hey guys....I was talking with Patty (Roughton) yesterday about this, and she said that Saturday, September 15th is Cinders is the place.  Patty was guessing that the cost would be less than $70 a person, which includes the rental, food, and incidentials (name tags, decorations), but we can work all of that out later. We need to put down a $500 deposit, so she suggested that I write to everyone on our Facebook page or via email and ask people to make some sort of personal deposit ($25 maybe), which of course, would come off of their final amount.  Patty is going to figure out how people can pay (maybe through this site), but in any event, she wanted me to at least get the word out to see if people could deposit early to take care of that $500....unless Louie wants to pay all of that for us!!  Or maybe Enid, with all of the birthday cash she'll be getting today (Happy birthday Enid!).

Thoughts?

Randy

Randy sounds like a solid plan. If less than $70 each, then if 10 of us put up $50 we will be set and not need refunds later. I can send a check for $50 just need to know where and to who.

Randy, that sounds like a good idea. I have an idea though. What if we pass the collection basket around one more time on a Sunday for all of us on a fixed income retirement

Pete Iosso

Good idea Lou!!! Like a relief fund for us poor people.

I can prepay for both Roger and me, so that leaves the rest to you rich folks.

I am in Dover all the time to visit my parents, so I can drop off the deposit, sign stuff, etc.  Once we lock down who is ok with prepaying, you can get the money to me by some fancy schmancy internet thing or another.

How does that work?

01/31/18 07:08 PM #106

Class of '73,

I can/will prepay the entire amount.  Like Enid suggested, we may need to set up some kind of PayPal account, or send it directly to Enid.

I'm okay with whatever the class decides.

I'll prepay the whole amount as well.  Let me know when, where, and how.

If we set up a paypal account, though, the person receiving the money normally pays a transfer fee so for the money to be correct, we would need to figure what that is and pay extra.

Louis Milonas

I will also prepay when details are worked out

I am an old fashioned girl.  People can just mail me checks.  Or is that too antiquated?
