Monica Rouleau (Myers)

December 6, 1943 – May 22, 2021

Monica Rouleau Myers died peacefully at her Boise home in the early morning hours Saturday, May 22, 2021.  She battled Ulcerative Colitis for 60 years, and Colon Cancer for the last 25 years of her life.

Monica was born December 6, 1943, in Hollywood, CA, to Zephirin and Eunice Rouleau.  She attended St. Emydius and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grammar Schools in Southern California, and graduated from Pius X High School (Downey, CA) in 1961.  She made many lifetime friends at Pius X.

She attended Seattle University, Mt. St Mary’s College, and San Jose State University; and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Geography from San Francisco State University in 1966.

She worked as a Librarian at John F. Baldwin Elementary School, Danville, CA, and as a Library Assistant at Irvine High School, Irvine, CA.  She enjoyed working as a Research Assistant at Geneva Cos., an Irvine based Merger & Acquisition firm.

In 1965 Monica married Joe Myers, and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.  They were blessed with two children, Kristin Myers Ceccarelli and Kurt Myers; and four Grand Children:  Jocelyn Ceccarelli, Gina Ceccarelli, Nicola Myers, and Michael Myers…often referred to by Monica as “three queens and a king”.  Son-in-Law, John Ceccarelli and Daughter-in-Law Anna Myers were special family members.

She is survived by her younger brother, Gregg Rouleau, in San Clemente, CA.

Family was always first with Monica.  She always provided encouraging words to Kristin and Kurt in their respective careers, and closely followed her Grand Children’s academic achievements and success in various sports and dance.  She was particularly fond of watching Tom Brady and Rudy Gobert perform professionally, loved the Los Angeles Dodgers, and all Boise State teams.

She was consistently unselfish and unpretentious, loved by her family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all.  May she rest in well-earned peace.

A Memorial Contribution to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation would be a fitting way to honor Monica’s life.

Monica was a beautiful and sweet High School classmate to many of us. Rest in peace.
