Connie Jasper (Ender)

Love the posts today!  Seems we all have the same feeling about the weekend.  Simply wonderful!!

I actually promised my Mom that I would come back to DBQ as soon as I can, for a longer visit with her.  Be sure to let me know as soon as you decide on a date in October.  I just might be able to make it.

Susie, An outing at your house sounds great!   Colorado has lots of golden aspens but they don't compare to the midwestern Fall colors.

Hello everyone.  It was a great time this weekend  seeing everyone and talking old times we had at Holy Ghost.  Doesn't seem possible we have been out of  school  that long  but time sure does fly by fast.  To the reunion committee---you guys did a great job.  I only wish more classmates could have been there but maybe next time.  Talk to ya all later.  Donna

Hi everyone.. wrote a note to Mary Kay today, and also a "Thank You"  to Tobin for the tour of the school. Didn't get the pic of the boys scanned and blown up, but I will get it done tomorrow and then get it to Tom to post.  Also, I will get my other pics from the reunion to him and he can pick what he wants to post.  Ahah, maybe we should only post a few at a time so you have to keep checking to see all...devilish....tried to put a smiley face in there Connie and I lost the whole post b4, so I am not doing it again..live with my homemade ones...:)   :)   :).  Donna, your on GREAT !!      If you people are reading....you should be writing !!!!!                   tata    Linda

Connie, Linda --

I'm out here a lot -- just not very late! I was always a night owl, and still prefer that. But after years of having to get up early in the morning, I've become kind of an early bird at night. So, I was already signed off when you two started looking for someone to talk to!

One of my fond dreams of retirement is that I can go back to being a night owl again!

Hi Mary,

I work a lot at night so I'm usually on-line late...and also early for that matter:)

Glad to be keeping in touch.

Sorry I missed you last night Linda!

Carol Fink (Hansen)

Hi Linda. Connie, Mary, and Donna...it would be a rare occasion that I'd be online late...no night owl here!

Linda, I appreciate your note to MK; I am going to get one out this weekend and when Jo is up to it, we will go visit her...so sad to lose your health.

Connie, glad you are a frequent flyer and Donna, I would have known you anywhere with that great laugh.  Mary, when you retire my guess is old habits may come right back!

just had a great walk and dinner and the front porch is calling....

Carol,I think I'll pass on crashing your slumber party, but you can fill me in later.

Marilyn Ehrlich (Borgerding)

My computer must be as stubborn as Linda's cause I can't post any smiley faces either.  I'm one of those night owls on here that doesn't know when to go to bed either.  Used to go to bed early when I had to get up early and milk cows.  But now that I don't do that anymore it gets later and later when I "hit the hay".  I had to quit that job about a year ago when I had a total knee replacement done.  Don't miss the cows at all, but I don't seem to accomplish much more in the house with the extra 4 hours...spend too much time on here I guess.

Love reading all the posts.  I hope more will respond.

That's Ok, Tom...you guys would get lost in the craziness that's bound to occur at susie's place...but am sure we can fill you in!

I agree, Marilyn; wish more people would jump on board the forum!  Rise and shine, everyone... I am headed to school!

I heard from Sue Hauth, who also happens to be in Colorado -- quite near Connie as it turns out. She was late posting her profile, so many of you might have missed it. (I go back periodically to check the profiles, because some people have added them late.) She was only at Holy Ghost for 7th and 8th grade, but was very nice and I remember her well. It was so nice connecting with her again. That is another great thing about this website -- it gives us a way to contact so many kids from the past we might never have found again. So thanks again TOM for the great website!

Hi Y'all,

Sorry I missed you on-line last night.  I got busy and didn't get home till late.

Where's Tom Klinge??  Haven't seen him on since the reunion.

Beautiful day in Colorado, finally relief from the heat and dry air...we had rain yesterday, and today sunny, breezy, and 60's.   These are the days when I really think about retirement...

We all expected to see snow on the Peak this morning, but nothing yet Won't be long.

hi people..just watched the 9-11 program on T V this afternoon... they say.....all give some, but some give all.  boy, they weren't wrong about that. Those people on Flight 93......what heros... and all the rest whos lives were taken on that day.  Last time i remember where i was at a historic tragedy was in 63..some year, uh...... Wahlert, 1st floor walking next to the large study hall on the way to music class when they said Kennedy was shot...... don't need any more of these kind of memories.  Having good vibes about last Sat tho..thanks guys !!

Connie Jasper (Ender)

Oh My, Let's hope we never have more news of that kind Linda. I too remember being in the hallway at Wahlert when the news came over about JFK, it was awful!

Any news about the Reunion photos?  Would love to see them!

I remember too Linda.I was just coming out of the hallway from the phys. ed. locker rooms when they made the announcement.I've never forgotten that all these years.

Marilyn Ehrlich (Borgerding)

Yes, I was in the hall on my way to music class too on 11 22 1963.  Was making breakfast on 9-11 when that news came on the TV.  Too many of those kind of memories in our lifetime.  Grandkids are staying over night tonight.  I'm wore out already! lol  Big day tomorrow of baking apple pies with my daughter and daughters -in-law.  Our goal is 40, but it may be more.  Got a feeling I won't be the one to roll out all that dough this year.

Lois Weber (Jungers)

Linda I am sorry I never got to you right away tonight when you asked if I was on.  I have never been on this site before and I was not sure how to get a message back to you.

Then I FINALLY discovered how to be able to type something back.  You probably were off by then because I didn't hear back from you unless ...........  But I am sure that was the case.

Even finding this message forum takes a while for me to get to it.  I do not have high speed and everyting is so slow, I get so tired of waiting for this thing to do something for me.

It was great seeing you all.  I was only going to come the first night but then decided on the dinner.  Just wish more of our class could have been there but it was great talking and see all the old pictures.

Hi Lois,

Glad to see you on forums.    It's a great way to stay in touch.

I have lots of memories from the reunion that keep me smiling.    It was a wonderful time and great to renew so many friendships.

Our group's nitecap was fun!

Keep in touch!  Would love to get together again soon.

Connie

Mary Buckley (Luedtke)

So here it is, time to leave Dubuque and head for points South.  It has been a whirlwind trip, I am so glad I decided to come to the reunion, best thing I did for the entire 3 weeks I've been up here.  Sorry I missed that nightcap Connie.  One of these times I come up it will be a slumber party at my crib.  Hope to be here Christmas but that may be too busy of a time of year for everyone.  We shall see.  Will continue to peek in at the Forum.  And just exactly where did Tom Klinge go?

O K now we have Tom Klinge lost.... I happen to know he was out to lunch...literally. He and a few of the boy mates.  Mary, I thought you were leaving the same day as Connie..I had no idea you were still here. Good luck with all the wedding plans for your  daughter.

It was great seeing all of you!  Lois, glad you decided to come back saturday night or I wouldn't have had an opportunity to talk to you.  I am sure those of us at this reunion will not lose touch again.  Looking forward to the slumber parties!  And perhaps an occasional Friday night Happy Hour???

Sue Fessler (Deaver)

Hello dear classmates!  I have been trying to find a date for the get together at my house.  I'm having a bad time trying to do it when the leaves are pertty.  So, I might have to do it later in October or early November, or maybe December.  This is what I was thinking........ Maybe we could do a late breakfast, mimosa, and quiche.  Let me know who might be interested and we'll see if we can't do this yet this YEAR!  Much happiness to all of you.

p.s. Carol we'll do a slumber party sometime too.

Sue
