Hey, Susie and all, I am open to anything!!!  Brunch sounds great or we could even meet at Mana Java in the Roshek building if that's easier...or another Friday eve at the Julien works, too, only this time we can sit in the lounge to enjoy their happy hour!  We need to let Connie know, or if connie knows when she is coming home, put it out there on the forum, Connie, and those of us that can will join you somewhere for an evening!  I do have a day off after conferences, so I am off at noon on Thursday, the 20th of October through that weekend if anyone has any ideas...

...anyone know of a cabin close by that could be rented for an overnighter?

Sue Fessler (Deaver)

We don't need to rent a cabin, I have plenty of room.  It's the date that's getting me. But, let me look at that weekend that you have conferences.  That might work for me.  I'll look when I get upstairs...........Would a Friday night that weekend be better?????  We could do wine and cheese and wine and cheese or something more filling so you don't get drunk .

p.s. Carol I have had a number of lumber parties at my house!!!!!  This is what we usually do.  Go out to eat, do a little gambling, eat some more, do a little gambling, come back to my house, have a little wine, play some cards,  go back to town, gamble a little, come back to my house watch the sun come up and go home.  No sleeping!  Hell ya can do that when your dead!!!!

Please  let me know who is interested in coming out that Friday night, I think it's the 21st of October.

This all sounds like great fun!    I will likely be up there a couple of times before the end of the year but don't have a schedule yet.

I'm coming in this weekend but only for a day to see my brother and my Mom.   Unfortunately this one has to be a really quick trip.

I'll keep an eye on the forums to see what you all come up with and I'll stay in touch.

Hope to see you All.

Hey, Sue that Friday would be great...I am not a gambler,  but I am lovin' the wine and cheese and staying up all night (like I will stay awake!).  I will run around and go wherever the gang goes...as long as I don't get stuck in the trunk if the car gets too full!

Keep us posted.  :-)

Joanne Campbell (Endorf)

Hi all:

Well I'm still crying from not being able to come to the reunion! Maybe you heard that I had a severe eye problem while traveling in Colorado and had surgery the Thursday right before. I tell you, if these are the "golden years", I'm not sure I'm ready for them....

But I am on the mend now, though,  and I definately want to come to the slumber party with Carol !!!

The pictures are great. Wish I could put more faces together with names . Guess I will have to get with Carol and she can tell me who is who (that is if I ever can see out of my right eye again-yikes).

Hope to see some of you soon!!

Sue Fessler (Deaver)

Hi gang, this is what I was thinking about that Friday, October 21st that we could get together as a group at my house for some wine and goodies, starting about 4:00.  The slumber party would be just the girls at a later date.  Maybe January or February when we all have cabin fever.  But again I would love to have a little cocktail get together that Friday.  Who besides Carol and Joanne are interested?

I just looked at the pictures they are great.

Sue

Marilyn Ehrlich (Borgerding)

Hey, the pictures are great.  They would be even better if there was a way to have the names of everyone on each of the pictures.  Did you happen to take a group picture? Would love to see it posted if you did. But then, I would need names for that too. lol A list of those attending would be nice if it is available, then I could at least try to put names on the faces.  Mary how about adding the group pic from the tour!!!  Still waiting for the boys communion pic.  Did you ever figure out the names of the girls on our communion pic?

Carol Fink (Hansen)

Sounds great, Susie.  I am sure Joanne and I will join your cocktail party!  Hope others can make it.  Am assuming a bottle of wine and an appetzer will be welcomed?

Winter slumber party will be something to look forward to as the doldrums set in!

Well, shoot, or more!  I haven't been on in quite awhile so I'm missing out on the action!!  I'm back in Dubuque, my mother-in-law passed away 10 days after I returned to Houston, will be here for a couple more days then back to Houston.  Sure wish I could be around for the party Susie, sounds like fun.  It was so great hooking up with you again.  I really laughed.  I'm pretty sure I will be back around the first week of December for the Holidays so perhaps we can all get together, would be happy to host a X-mas gathering.  It's just such a busy time of year.  Sorry to hear you were under the weather Linda, good you are put back together.  And thanks again Rick K for the birthday message.  For all who didn't know, I met Rick when we were 4 years old, living up on Kane St.  My sister Karen, myself, Rick and his brother Dave ran the hills for 3 years.  Great fun and great memories.  Unfortunately, today you couldn't let your child walk up the block much less let them get into all of the trouble we got into.  It's amazing we are still alive.

Hi Everyone,

I just got home from a couple of work days in Minneapolis and see ya'll have been busy "posting".  I love the messages.

Mary,  I'm sorry to hear about your mother-in-law.  I actually heard from someone in DBQ that the obit was in the newspaper.  Hope you, Dick, and your family are all doing ok.

I can't make it to DBQ for the party on the 21st  but the first week of Dec may be a possibility for me.  I'll check back and watch for more detail.

Hi gang, I've been gone for a few days, out of town.  Camping!

Mary so sorry to hear about Mrs. Luedtke.  I had a great time seeing you again after all those years.  Hope we can connect in December.

I'm still planning on the 21st, Friday late afternoon.  I'll have to put a map on here so you can all find your way.  I'm not sure the leafs will will be good by then, they seem to be coloring quickly.

If I have it right so far, Linda, Joanne, Carol, Pat, Betty are coming.  Hope more of you can make it.

Hoping to see alot of you soon!  Sue

Hello all~

Mary, sorry about Dick's Mom; it really is a hard transition to become the older generation...and one never loses the wonderful memories of parents.

Susie, I am jealous of the camping...what glorious weather we have been having!  My sister Patty is at Pike's Peak this weekend; imagine that grandeur!!!

Just thinking about the 21st; do you think we should go back to plan A and have the winter sleepover instead? The more the merrier and not many available the 21st.

Mary Buckley (Luedtke)

Thanks everyone for your sympathy.  This is a good one.  Went to fly back to Houston last Monday evening 5:00 out of Dubuque.  Glorious weather, so happy we wouldn't be delayed or canceled by snow or ice.  The 4:00 plane came in from Chicago and a bird flew into the wing upon landing.  Flight canceled.  Overnight in Dubuque, 24 hours to finally get home!

Hi everyone, Carol had a great suggestion.  Change cocktails at my house to the first part of December.  We'll work around Connie's schedule.  Maybe Mary Luedtke will be here too...  Connie and Mary let us know when you'll be in Dubuque.  We'll plan for then!  Oh it sounds like fun!  Love to all Sue

Hello everyone!  I have been reading all of the posts since the reunion and it sounds like everyone had a good time.  For me, it was so much fun working on the committee and hearing all of the stories from our years at Holy Ghost.  It was so great re-establishing friendships with old friends who had lost touch for so many years.  Hopefully we will stay in touch for many years to come.  As I get older I realize just how important friends are to me.

I too love the idea of a sleepover or cocktails with "the girls."  Carol stayed with me on the reunion weekend and it seemed like old times!  It would have been even better had Joanne been able to come):

Mary, I was sorry to hear of the loss of your mother-in-law.  No matter what their age, it is always hard to see them go.

I hope everyone is enjoying the great Fall weather and I hope to see many of you soon.

I am glad I checked in today or Susie I would have been showing up at your house on Friday. December should work for me. I am working from Dubuque the next couple of weeks until I start taking weekly treks to Des Moines in November to start training. If anyone wants to get together for get together let me know. It is so nice not to have to travel!! 563-663-5310 is my cell.

Mary Trieweiler (Germain)

I was just thinking the other day that I thought I knew all my teachers at Holy Ghost, and then Mrs. Sisson popped into my head. I had forgotten about her. She was from Mississippi, and was quite young and attractive. Does anyone else remember her? What grade was that anyway? I know it must have been one of the upper grades, but I had Sister Roberta in 6th, Sister Anthony Claret in 7th, and Sister Germain in 8th. So where did Mrs. Sisson come in? Now that I remember having her, I remember her quite well -- just not what grade it was.

Hi Mary,  I had Mrs. Marion Sisson for 7th grade. We were in the front school room that I took your and Dennys pic at school..frt right . I don't  think she was too fond of the North. Hey, if anyone is reading these, you need to write too, as then we know the site is being used.  Well, i finally got over my strep throat and bronkites only to get one heck of a cold..now that i'm over it, i end up breaking the cap on my tooth and had to have a root canal done yesterday and do not get it put back on til next week..good thing it's Halloween..I fit right in !!!!lol Man i hope i win the lottery,  i could use something good ! Good news is my son in law just got home from Iraq Sun. nite.  now the boys can have their daddy for awhile. Good to see all of you and hope you had as much fun as i did...now we just need to stay in contact with each other. Thanks again Paul and Helena for the boys pic, Tom will post it soon. If anyone has any pics from the reunion we can post if you get them to Tom, or post yourself if you are computer savy...i'm not. Rick Kutsch you have been very quiet lately.. are  you there?  Marilyn, Sue H.,  Betty , Connie and Susie are you  here also?  Rick ..birthday coming up next week.......... Did anyone see any person that was not at the reunion and tell them how much fun they missed out on ?  Hey Diane and Dan,    Mr.and Mrs Dodds  ...congratulations on wedding. Mary B also for your daughter. I'm wondering if Sherry crashed that wedding to sing.....funny!!!! Inside story, you had to be at the reunion to get that one!!!  Karen Kalloway are you and Linda here....great to see you both!!   I hear the boys have already been to lunch a few times since the reunion.... i hope you guys didn't talk about any of us girls.  Also i hear that the class before ours is under way with there reunion plans for this year, so if any of you have siblings in that class they can expect to be hearing from them soon. Alice are reading this??? Jo, hope vision is getting better.  Well, i'm done for now, my pick and poke finger is tired.  Bye everyone.. HAPPY  HALLOWEEN ...Linda

Marilyn Ehrlich (Borgerding)

Yes, I am still stalking this site twice a day.  Things been pretty quiet on here lately.  Thought everone had forgotten about it.  Mary, I had Mrs. Sisson in 7th grade...that was the year the teachers started going from room to room to teach. They were trying to get us ready for high school where we were the ones who would have to move from room to room.

I've been wondering when the boys first communion picture is going to be uploaded!  I'm anxious to see more pictures from the reunion, if there are any.  Still haven't figured everyone out on the ones that have been uploaded, but I may have a little more time to persue that soon.  I have been busy getting a slide show together for my son Ken who is in construction at Independence.  He was one of 8 supervisors on the Extreme Makeover House at West Union a couple weeks ago.  I can't wait to see it when it airs on TV.  I have loads of pictures of the construction, but no one was allowed to take pictures of the inside of the house. 8 /12 hour days was quite a challenge, but he was glad to have been a part of it.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Linda, and glad your family is back safe.
