Kathryn L. O’Rourke, 61,of Dubuque passed away Friday morning, Sept. 7, 2012 at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, Madison.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #6. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque.

Kathryn graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and received her LPN from NICC. She joined the Army in 1982 and served ten years, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. While in the service, Kathryn received her BS and Masters of Science in International Relations from Troy State University, Alabama.

Following military service, Kathryn moved to Denver ,CO, where she worked for Best Buy and Big Lots. Since returning to Dubuque, she worked in various retail outlets and was last employed at Quick Stop.

Kathryn is survived by her mother, Tanya O’Rourke, sister Marina and brother-in-law Anthony Rosenow, Dubuque, brother George in Waterville, ME, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceeded in death by her father, Thomas, and sister Alexandra Haug,
