Suzanne “Susie” L. Shaffer, 73, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away at home with her family by her side on July 21, 2024.  Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home with Deacon John Stierman officiating. An additional visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the start of services. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. 

Susie was born on October 21, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Joan (Hirsch) Foulk. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in the class of 1968. She was united in marriage to Thomas Cleary Shaffer on January 25, 1969.  Susie enjoyed needle point, bingo, slot machines and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. She also loved her family and enjoyed it when they could all get together. 

Susie is survived by her children Rick (Stacy Thommen) Shaffer of Epworth, Ron “Red” Shaffer, Dawn (Bill Jr.) Mayne, and Brian (Tiffany Axtell) Shaffer, all of Dubuque, grandchildren Amanda Shaffer, Tyler Mayne, Alex Mayne, Kiernan (Kyleigh) Shaffer, Logan Mayne, Mikhayla Dalton, Madison Shaffer, and Peyton Shaffer, three great grandchildren Allyanna Mayne, Rosalie Dalton, and Eileen Shaffer, and four siblings Linda (Dennis) Krough, Frank Foulk, Mike Foulk, and Bruce Foulk.  She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Shaffer, Mother Joan Foulk, siblings Dennis Foulk and Lonna and Ron Dress.
