Comments:What have you been up to since 1962
Graduated from Wahlert High School-class of 66.
After working one year at Bradley Iron Works in Dubuque I joined the Army in March of 1967.
Immediatly after training I was deployed to Viet Nam as Combat Engineer (one year). I encountered a lot of combat during the 68 TET offensive and after.
This was followed by four more years in the Army, (three years in Germany, one year in Ft Hood TX). Upon returning to Dubuque I worked for Flexsteel (one year) I then gained employment at Dubuque Disposal (now BFI) for 25 years.
During my late thirties I went to college nights, achieving my degree in Marketing/Management, and continued my education with a two year certification in Safety & Health and other work related certifications. The promotion to Operations/Safety manager at BFI opened the door to employment with the State of IA in 1997.
I started out as Safety Consultant/Homeland Security advisor and continued to my current position as Public Service Supervisor.
I currently manage 11 buildings on State Capitol Complex In Des Moines (the Capitol Building 1007 East Grand being my main building and also housing my office.)
For the past 12 years I have been serving as Commander of Carlisle VFW Post 2099, including three years as VFW 5th District Commander.
WILL RETIRE SOMEDAY as soon as I get approval from my wife.
