To all his loved ones my heartfelt condolences. At the 2016 reunion Les and I enjoyed reminiscing with each other - it was clear that we had very similar views regarding School and life in Blackmores. He had lost none of his cheerful charm and good nature that had served him well. He was one of those increasingly rare characters whose perspective on life and friendships was consistently positive and phlegmatic even If challenging - perhaps I should say, especially when it was difficult. I remember thinking to myself, heck Les your cheerfulness, goodwill and positive outlook have if anything got stronger over the years.  There was such an authenticity and warmth in his demeanour that I have no doubt his loved ones are grieving his loss as they try to come to terms with not having him around to lift the spirits of others. Farewell Les, and a much belated thank you for your friendship during our shared odyssey at DHS.

With prayers and condolences to all who are grieving the loss of a loyal and caring gentle man.

John Mason.

Rob Wilson (Class Of 1967)

Les was a year ahead of me in Blackmores, and the custom of the time was not to be "familiar in any way whatsoever" with the seniors to oneself. Despite this culture, I got to know Les fairly well, and he was a gentle sort of lad, always friendly and willing to be of help to any boy in Blackmores. Condolences to his family and RIP Cheyne 1.
