Roger Westbrook
Very sad news
I received an sms from Mike Westbrook last evening (31 July) on the passing of brother Roger
Roger had a leg removed some time back, was admitted to hospital with septicimia but sadly passed on last evening
I remember Roger as a very talented sportsman who represented SA Schools Cricket and a superb golfer post school with a lovely sense of humour
I am copying some of his boarder - BE - mates who might be interested in contacting Mike on

He will be sadly missed - RIP Roger

I spoke to Mike Westbrook today who made mention of a wake at Kloof Country Club on Thursday from 3,30pm. I will be out the country for 3 weeks so unfortunately cannot attend.
Mike was very appreciative of calls and condolences he received from Roger's old mates.
I am not sure whether we should circulate this information but really do not know who socialised with Roger post school - I know there will be a lot of his golfing buddies from Kloof who will pay their respects.

Condolences to Mike and the Westbrook families. I am sure he has left a huge gap in many peoples lives.
During the time in the 60's when I knew Roger and played Rugby and Cricket with him he was always very cheerful and had a fantastic sense of Humour.
May you rest in peace.
Howard Davies.

So sad to hear about Roger. He was one of my brother Patrick's best friends and I knew him well too. Roger stirred many a school girl's heart but he was very cool about his status as a heart throb. He could be very amusing in a stylish way. I also remember Roger (and his brother Mike) being great rugby players. I think everybody knew the Westbrook brothers. Deepest sympathy to his family.
