Though I would have thought it unlikely while I was in school I actually ended up with an exciting (some might describe it as thrilling) career working on a tools infrastructure that tests switch and router firmware. That may not sound that exciting on the face of it, but you're probably just not grasping the full extremeness of it. Close your eyes and imagine being pushed out of an airplane while strapped into a luge. Got it? It's like that.
Having reread that last bit I think now maybe it's not quite as thrilling as that, but it pays the bills while my agent pitches my novel.
[Edit] This is so weird, but I like, just got the call that Ace Books is picking up my book, with a contract that covers the two sequels as well. Sorry, but I'm freaking out a bit and telling everyone and that includes you.
My latest novel 'The Burn Zone', written under the pseudonym James K Decker, is available now for preorder...
