Romona Lee Asleson, 72, of Princeton, IA, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Monday, July 17, 2023.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 26, from 2-6pm at the Princeton Community Center (Boll's), 428 River Dr. Princeton, IA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Romona was born a twin daughter of Maurice and Mary (Solomon) Gross on July 24, 1950 in Rock Island, IL. On April 24, 1970 she was united in marriage to Roger Asleson.

Romona was a devoted stay at home mom and would babysit for others out of her home. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, dancing, telling jokes, and giving people a hard time. She also loved Pepsi.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 53 years, Roger Asleson; daughters, Tammy (Brian) Stevens of Las Vegas, NV, and Julia Nelson of Princeton, IA; son, Allen (Laura) Asleson of Princeton, IA; grandchildren, Brett (Kelsey) Jessen, Dakota Asleson, Tyler Stevens, and Brandon Stevens; great grandchild, Brayden and Mila Jessen; and siblings, Shirley (the late Bill) Murray, KY, John (Rita) Gross of Rock Island, IL, and Clara (Pete) Deklein of DeWitt, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brother, Roger.
