Jennifer Lynn Poeschel, 19, of South Lowes Creek Road, died Thursday in Madison as a result of an accident.
Jennifer was born on Dec 29, 1970 in Durham, NC to Bernard and Kay Poeschel. She graduated from Memorial High School in 1989 and was attending the University of WI - Madison as a sophomore, pursuing a major in geology and Spanish. When in high school, Jennifer swam on the Memorial High School swim team. As a junior she went to Spain with the International Languages Abroad.
Jennifer is survived by her parents, Dr. Bernard and Kay Poeschel; a sister, Julie, and a brother, Brandon, both at home; and gradparents Hubert Poeschel of Durand and Evelyn Walk of Neillsville.
Services will be at 10 am Tuesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8pm Monday at Fuller Funeral Home.
The family has requested that memorials be sent to Luther Hospital or St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Probably no one in high school (except our fellow Cleghorn classmates) knew that Jennifer and I were very close friends in grade school. I have a lot of fond and funny memories of her - she had a great sense of humor. In seventh grade we spent several afternoons after school trying to figure out how to change the combinations on lockers. We didn't accomplish that, but we did figure out how to open any locker we knew the combination for in a previous year. I shed a lot of tears over her death even though we hadn't been close in later years.
