Craig L. Hinrichs Hinrichs

I graduated from the U of M, School of Architecture along with classmates Bruce Knutson and Jack Bidwell. Recently retired after a 40 year career as an architect designing primarily schools, churches and hospitals. Mostly local projects that can be seen on my Facebook page which is set up as a website of sorts. I have continued to enjoy long distance road trips throughout the years in a variety of European sports cars, and judge as many as 30 events each year as a certified BBQ judge for competitive BBQ contests.

I was late to the party when my parents moved a short distance to the other side of France Avenue when I was in the 10th grade. When I enrolled at Edina-Morningside I tried to enroll in a foreign language class and was told that all that was left for me was a architectural drafting class. This was bad news as I had just nearly failed a drafting class in the Southwest High School district I had come from in Minneapolis. A random bounce of the ball by then having the inimitable Ken Lanto as my Edina drafting class teacher who lit a fire somehow and showed how the influence of just one person can completely alter the course of your life. Mine by enjoying a subsequent long and rewarding career as a design architect. Having lived in Morningside, I graduated in 1965 from Edina-Morningside High school and am waiting to see if they have a 50th reunion that corresponds with the one Edina High School is having.
